AI interview assistant refund policies range from a 30-day money-back window to no refunds at all. Of the 12 interview tools we checked in October 2026, Big Interview gives the longest window (30 days), CoPilot Interview gives 14 days on a first payment, Parakeet AI gives 7 days on unused purchases and Final Round AI gives 72 hours, while Interview Coder, Yoodli and Interviews Chat don't refund an ordinary cancellation.
Most windows come with conditions: a usage cap, first payment only, or proof that the software failed. The tables below paraphrase each vendor's own refund policy, terms or pricing FAQ, checked between October 20 and 22, 2026, with short quotes where the exact wording matters. We make CoPilot Interview, so our row states our refund policy exactly as published, and every competitor fact comes from that vendor's own site. For prices, platforms and privacy across the whole category, see our October 2026 category report.
AI interview assistant refund windows at a glance
Read each row left to right: the window first, then the conditions that decide whether you actually qualify. Two rows are practice platforms rather than live assistants, Big Interview (courses plus mock practice) and Yoodli (AI roleplay and speech coaching); we include them because people weigh them against interview copilots before paying.
Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview.

Free tiers, renewals and where to cancel
A short refund window matters less if you can test the product free first, and more if a plan renews on its own. Free-tier details come from each vendor's site, as summarized in our October 2026 comparison of interview tools; renewal and cancellation details come from the same policy pages as the first table.
| Tool | Free tier or trial | Renewals and longer plans | Where you cancel |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoPilot Interview | Free plan: 15 minutes a day, sessions up to 15 minutes, no account or card | Renewal charges aren't covered by the guarantee; cancel before the renewal date and keep access to the end of the paid period | Account dashboard |
| Big Interview | No free plan on its pricing page (a free course is listed) | 30-day and 3-month subscriptions, plus a one-time lifetime plan | Account page |
| Final Round AI | Free plan covers prep; live sessions need Pro | The 72-hour guarantee covers monthly, quarterly and annual plans; cancelling alone doesn't refund a charge | Settings, then Account & Billing, then Manage subscription; confirm in the billing portal |
| Parakeet AI | 10 sessions of up to 10 minutes; first mock interview free | A renewal collected after you cancelled is refunded in full automatically | Profile page in your dashboard |
| LockedIn AI | 5-minute sessions, up to 60 free minutes a day, no card | App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under Apple's rules | Billing & Plans in the web app, or the store you subscribed through |
| Sensei AI | Free plan with 15-minute copilot sessions | Cancelling stops auto-renewal; access runs to the end of the cycle | Web app settings |
| LinkJob AI | A free 30-minute trial when you download | The pricing FAQ says plans renew automatically; the terms say subscriptions aren't auto-debited, so ask support which applies | Yourself, or by asking support |
| Verve AI | 3 copilot sessions a month (15 minutes each) and 5 mock interviews | Yearly plans are "a commitment for the full year" | Manage Account, then Manage, then subscription settings |
| Cluely | Free Starter plan with limited AI responses | No pro-rated refund if you cancel mid-cycle | Settings, then Billing, then Manage (billing portal) |
| Interviews Chat | 30 free credits (1 credit is 1 minute), no card | Subscriptions renew unless cancelled; unused credits don't roll over | Account page, then Manage Subscription |
| Yoodli | Starter plan: 5 lifetime sessions | Cancelling stops auto-renewal; access runs to the end of the period | Account billing settings |
| Interview Coder | Free download; AI features need a paid plan | All sales final | Billing tab in your dashboard |

Which refund policies are the most generous?
Sorted by what you can actually get back after an ordinary purchase, the 12 policies fall into three groups:
- Real money-back windows: Big Interview (30 days), CoPilot Interview (14 days), Parakeet AI (7 days, if unused) and Final Round AI (72 hours). Three of the four limit use: CoPilot Interview to under 30 minutes of live session time, Final Round AI to fewer than two sessions of over 30 minutes, and Parakeet AI to purchases you haven't touched.
- Fault-only or plan-specific: Verve AI and Cluely refund mainly when the software fails; LockedIn AI and LinkJob AI refund some longer plans but not monthly ones; Sensei AI offers a 3-day partial refund after an annual renewal.
- No refund for a normal cancellation: Interview Coder, Yoodli and Interviews Chat.
Usage caps exist because a live tool can be used for one important call and then refunded. Our own policy says so directly: 30 minutes is enough for a full mock run and an audio check, and deliberately less than a real interview.
Best choice: CoPilot Interview. You can test it on the free plan for as long as you like, and the 14-day guarantee then covers your first payment while you've used under 30 minutes of live session time. The honest limits: the guarantee covers the first payment of a new subscription only, once per customer; renewals aren't covered; and Big Interview's 30-day window is longer, though it's a practice platform rather than a live assistant. Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview.
What should you screenshot before you pay?
Refund requests turn on dates and screenshots. Save these before and after checkout:
- The refund policy, with its date showing. Policies change: Final Round AI and LockedIn AI both updated theirs in October 2026.
- The checkout screen. Plan, price and billing interval. A large monthly figure is often an annual price divided by 12 and charged up front.
- Your receipt. Windows run from the charge date: 72 hours at Final Round AI, 14 days at CoPilot Interview.
- The renewal date. Put a reminder in your calendar two days before it.
- Any usage meter. If a policy caps usage, note where you stand. CoPilot Interview's account dashboard shows your live session time.
- The cancellation confirmation, on screen or by email.
- Your refund request and the reply, with the date you sent it.

How do card refunds and disputes work?
This is general information, not legal advice. Start with the vendor: email the address in its policy from your account email, give the charge date and plan, and keep the reply.
If a vendor won't correct a genuine billing error, US cardholders can dispute it under the Fair Credit Billing Act. The FTC's guide to disputing credit card charges says your letter must reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent, and it counts charges for things not delivered as agreed as billing errors. Its list is about mistakes and non-delivery, not a subscription you meant to cancel, so a forgotten renewal is usually a matter for the vendor's own policy.
Store purchases follow the store's rules. LockedIn AI's policy, for example, says iPhone purchases are refunded by Apple under Apple's terms, through your Apple ID settings. Outside the US you may have more rights: CoPilot Interview's policy notes the EU and UK statutory right of withdrawal, which its guarantee doesn't limit.
Practice before you pay
The refund you never need is the cheapest one. Run a full practice round on a free tier before buying anything: answer out loud, check that the tool hears your call audio, and judge whether its answers fit your background. CoPilot Interview's free plan includes Mock Interview, which scores each spoken answer out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer, and the browser AI mock interview needs nothing installed. When you're ready, our desktop AI interview assistant runs on Windows 10+ and macOS 12+, and paid plans start at $14.99 a month (sale price; regular $19.99).
If you use a live assistant in a real interview, follow the rules of the employer or platform you're interviewing with — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
Before you pay, it also helps to know how the same vendors handle your data and why these tools cost what they do.
Test it free before you pay
15 free minutes every day, with no account and no card. If you upgrade later, your first payment has a 14-day money-back guarantee while you've used under 30 minutes of live session time.

Which AI interview assistant has the best refund policy?
Among the 12 tools we checked in October 2026, Big Interview has the longest window at 30 days, but it is a practice platform. Among live assistants, CoPilot Interview offers 14 days on the first payment of a new subscription if you have used under 30 minutes of live session time, and its free plan lets you test it first. We make CoPilot Interview.
Does cancelling an AI interview assistant subscription give me a refund?
Usually not. At most vendors, including CoPilot Interview, Final Round AI and Cluely, cancelling stops the next charge and a refund is a separate request under the vendor's policy. You normally keep access until the paid period ends.
Are renewal charges refundable?
Rarely. CoPilot Interview, LinkJob AI and Interviews Chat say renewals are not covered, and LockedIn AI's monthly and quarterly plans are not refundable once started. Sensei AI offers a partial refund only if you cancel an annual plan within 3 days after it renews. Cancel a few days before your renewal date.
Can I get a refund if the app does not work on my computer?
Often, if you ask quickly. Cluely allows 24 hours for that case, Parakeet AI 30 days for a technical problem on its side, Verve AI refunds verifiable technical issues on its end, and LinkJob AI refunds significant bugs with photo or video evidence. CoPilot Interview's policy says to write in regardless of the usual conditions if you could not use the app at all.
What is CoPilot Interview's refund policy?
A 14-day money-back guarantee on the first payment of a new subscription, as long as you have used less than 30 minutes of live session time since that payment. It applies once per customer, renewal charges are not covered, and you can cancel anytime from your account page.
Should I dispute the charge with my card issuer instead?
Ask the vendor first and keep the reply. Card disputes are for billing errors such as wrong amounts, unauthorized charges or things not delivered as agreed, and the FTC says your letter must reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error. This is general information, not legal advice.
