How Much Does an AI Interview Assistant Cost? How the Pricing Works

The pricing models in this market, what each one costs as of October 2026, the costs that don't show on the price tag, and a simple way to estimate what you will actually spend.

How much does an AI interview assistant cost? As of October 2026, most tools charge roughly $15 to $150 a month for unlimited use, with large discounts if you pay for a year up front. Several have free tiers, and some sell time by the hour, from $5.99 for one hour with CoPilot Interview to $38 for a one-hour credit with Parakeet AI. What you actually spend depends less on the sticker price than on the pricing model and on how many hours you need.

The same headline price can mean very different things: a monthly price may only apply if you pay for twelve months, a "free plan" may cover preparation but not live help, and a credit may be one minute. This guide explains each pricing model, the costs that don't show on the price tag and how to estimate your own number.

Every competitor price here comes from our compare AI interview assistants table, checked against each vendor's own site in October 2026. Prices change often, so confirm on the vendor's pricing page before you buy. We make CoPilot Interview.

Costs that don't show on the price tag

Two tools with the same monthly price can cost you very different amounts. These are the differences to look for.

Session caps and gaps

Some plans limit how long one session runs or how soon you can start the next. On CoPilot Interview, free sessions run up to 15 minutes, Standard allows 60-minute sessions 2 hours apart, and Pro and Pro+ allow 70 minutes with no gap. Sensei AI's free plan uses 15-minute copilot sessions, and Verve AI's free plan gives 3 sessions of 15 minutes a month. If your rounds run an hour, a cheap plan with short sessions can push you up a tier.

Which AI models your tier includes

Stronger models often sit on higher tiers. CoPilot Interview uses fast free models on Free and Standard, adds ChatGPT and Gemini models on Pro and adds Claude on Pro+. LinkJob AI also ties stronger models to higher plans. If you want a specific model family for hard technical rounds, price the tier that includes it, not the entry tier.

Metering by the minute

Credits make a low entry price possible but harder to predict. Interviews Chat counts 1 credit as 1 minute, so its $19 plan's 1,000 credits are a fixed amount of use, not unlimited. LockedIn AI meters per-minute credits too, though it says they don't expire. Convert any credit allowance into hours before you compare it with a flat plan.

Annual commitments

A monthly figure "billed annually" is a yearly charge on day one. Sensei AI is $24 a month billed annually, which is $288 for the year, or $89 for a single month. For a search that lasts a few weeks, the one-month price or an hour pack is what you actually pay.

Top tiers and "from" prices

Final Round AI's Pro is listed from $25 a month, so check what the price is for the billing period you want. Cluely's top tier is $149.99 a month against $19.99 for Pro. Check which tier includes the features you want before you treat the entry price as your cost.

Refund conditions

Refund rules vary and change, so read each vendor's policy before you pay. CoPilot Interview's 14-day money-back guarantee covers the first payment of a new subscription if you have used under 30 minutes of live session time; renewals aren't covered, and you can cancel anytime from your account page. Details are in our refund policy.

Your own AI provider bill

Open-source tools like Natively AI cost nothing to download, but if you use your own API key, the provider bills you for usage. That cost depends on how much you use it, so no fixed price applies.

How to estimate what you will actually spend

A ten-minute estimate beats guessing from price tags. Work through these steps:

  1. List the live rounds you expect. Use the length on the invite, or assume 45 to 60 minutes for a full round and 15 to 30 for a recruiter screen.
  2. Decide which rounds need help at full length. Plenty of preparation fits in short practice sessions, which free tiers cover.
  3. Add full-length rehearsals. One the day before each important round is a reasonable starting point.
  4. Group the hours by month. Many hours in one month favor a monthly plan you cancel afterward. A few hours, or hours spread over months, favor packs that don't expire.
  5. Check same-day spacing. If two sessions fall close together, make sure your plan has no gap rule that blocks the second one.
  6. Match the model tier to the hardest round. Behavioral and general questions do fine on fast models; deep system design is where higher tiers earn their price.
  7. Price the total, then compare. Multiply a monthly price by the months you expect to search, and compare that with packs and with any annual price.

Example estimate (made up to show the method): three 45-minute rounds and two one-hour rehearsals, all within four weeks, come to about 4.25 hours. On CoPilot Interview, that is one month of Standard at $14.99, cancelled straight away, against $19.99 for the 5-hour pack. If the same hours were spread over three months, the 5-hour pack would win, because Standard would cost $44.97 for three months.

Six pricing questions to answer before you pay

  1. What will I pay for the period I will actually use? Not the annual-equivalent figure, unless you plan to stay a year.
  2. Is the price in my currency, and does it include the tier I need?
  3. What is metered: minutes, sessions, credits or AI responses?
  4. What happens to unused time at the end of a month or a pack?
  5. Which AI models does this tier include?
  6. What are the refund conditions, and do they cover renewals?

For the free-trial side of these questions, including cards on file and trials that turn into paid plans, see our free trial checks. If you are wondering whether to pay at all, read whether an AI interview assistant is worth it.

Tip: Spend the free minutes first. Testing a tool on your own computer and call app costs nothing on a free tier, and it tells you whether any price is worth paying.

If you plan to use a real-time interview assistant during a live call, test it on a practice call first. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.

FAQ

How much does an AI interview assistant cost?

As of October 2026, most charge roughly $15 to $150 a month for unlimited use, with large discounts for annual billing. Several have free tiers, and some sell hours, from $5.99 for one hour with CoPilot Interview to $38 for a one-hour credit with Parakeet AI.

Is there a free AI interview assistant?

Yes. CoPilot Interview gives 15 free minutes every day, in sessions up to 15 minutes, with no credit card and no signup. Other free tiers vary: Verve AI gives 3 sessions a month of 15 minutes, Parakeet AI one 10-minute session, and Final Round AI's free plan covers preparation only.

Why is the annual price so much lower than the monthly price?

Because you pay for the whole year up front. Sensei AI, for example, is $24 a month billed annually ($288 a year) or $89 for one month. For a search of a few weeks, the one-month price or an hour pack is what you would actually pay.

Are credits or hour packs cheaper than a subscription?

For a few hours, or hours spread over several months, packs usually cost less, especially if they never expire. For many hours in a single month, a monthly plan you cancel afterward is often cheaper. Count your hours first.

What hidden costs should I check?

Session length caps and gaps between sessions, which AI models your tier includes, how credits are counted, whether time expires, annual commitments behind low monthly figures, top-tier prices, refund conditions and, for open-source tools, your own AI provider bill.
