Careers at CoPilot Interview

We're a small distributed team. We're not actively hiring right now, but we always read inbox introductions from people who've built something we'd recognize.

What we look for

We're a tiny team and likely to stay that way for a while. When we DO hire, we look for people with these traits:

  • You've shipped a non-trivial real-world product (open-source, indie SaaS, internal tool used by hundreds, etc.) and can show us the code or the result.
  • You've conducted technical interviews as a hiring manager OR been a serious candidate at a FAANG-tier company in the last 24 months. Both is better.
  • You have a strong opinion about what good interview tooling should and shouldn't do. Existing tools annoy you for specific reasons you can articulate.
  • You're comfortable with full-remote async work, narrow Slack channels, and being trusted to ship without daily standups.

What we don't look for

  • Years of experience as a primary signal. We've hired strong builders with 3 years and turned away 15-year veterans whose work we couldn't evaluate.
  • Resume polish over output. We'd rather see your GitHub or your blog or your shipped product.
  • Interview-specific performance theatre. We don't do whiteboard coding rounds. We do paid two-week trial projects on real problems instead.

Roles we'd consider opening (if we found the right person)

  • Senior product engineer — full-stack TypeScript and one of (Electron / Tauri / native macOS+Windows). Comfortable owning the desktop client soup-to-nuts.
  • Applied AI engineer — hands-on with the production behavior of OpenAI / Anthropic / Google Gemini APIs. Knows latency, cost, and quality tradeoffs cold.
  • Interview-research / content — ex-FAANG engineer who's run loops, knows the question banks, and can write blog content engineers actually want to read.

All TBD   None of these are open roles. If reading any of them made you think "that's me", email anyway.
