If you want an Exponent alternative you can start free today, CoPilot Interview gives you 15 minutes of mock interviews every day, built from your résumé and the job description and scored out of 10, with no card or signup. Exponent itself is now called Aced: as of October 2026, its Pro plan costs $79 billed monthly (or $12 a month billed annually), and AI mock interviews need the Expert plan at $99 a month (or $20 a month billed annually).
Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview, so weigh our view accordingly. Every Aced fact below comes from aced.io, read on October 20, 2026, and every other tool's facts come from its own site the same month. Aced is still the better pick for some people, and we say who. For a full look at the platform itself, read our Exponent (Aced) review.
Exponent is now Aced: what it is
Exponent renamed itself Aced. Its announcement, "Exponent is now Aced", was published on August 17, 2026 and last updated on October 1, 2026, and tryexponent.com now permanently redirects to aced.io. The site footer still names the company Exponent Labs, LLC. The post says the company started eight years ago and now runs a family of brands that includes InterviewCake, Pramp, Resumes.fyi and APM List.
Aced is interview prep for tech roles, with a finance track for investment banking. It has four parts:
- Courses for product management, software engineering, system design, engineering management, data science, machine learning, data engineering, AI engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, technical program management, solutions architecture, UX and product design, BizOps and strategy, security and investment banking, plus a database of candidate-reported questions and company guides.
- Peer mock interviews on Aced Practice: you're matched with another candidate, each of you interviews the other for about 30 minutes, and you swap rubric-based notes afterwards. AI grading and a transcript need a paid membership. Since July 2024, new Pramp sessions run here too.
- AI practice: an AI coach called Ace, plus AI mock interviews and AI interview feedback on the Expert plan.
- 1:1 coaching with experts you book by role, company or skill, sold separately from membership.
Exponent (Aced) pricing as of October 2026
From Aced's pricing page, read October 20, 2026:
| Plan | Month to month | Billed annually | What's included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | $0 | Sample lessons and questions, 5 peer mocks a month, basic job referrals; no credit card |
| Pro | $79/mo | $12/mo | All courses, video and written solutions, company guides, real interview experiences, unlimited peer mocks, full question database, priority referrals, Discord community |
| Expert | $99/mo | $20/mo | Everything in Pro, plus AI mock interviews, AI interview feedback and chat with the AI coach |
The page shows the annual plans only as monthly figures, not as a yearly total, so check the total at checkout. Memberships renew automatically, you cancel before the renewal date from your account page, and Aced offers full refunds within 5 days of purchase.
Coaching costs extra. A coach booking page we checked lists 1-hour mock interview sessions at $249 for one, $675 for three and $999 for five ($200 a session). Per the coaching FAQ, unused sessions never expire and can be refunded within six months of purchase, minus any multi-session discount. For a plan-by-plan breakdown, see our Exponent pricing guide.
Why people look for an Exponent alternative
These are the reasons we can check on Aced's own pages:
- Month-to-month cost. If your search lasts one month, Pro is $79 and Expert is $99. The $12 and $20 rates need an annual commitment.
- AI mock interviews are on the top plan. Pro covers courses and unlimited peer mocks; the AI mock interviewer and AI feedback are listed only under Expert.
- Peer mocks need a partner and a time slot. A session takes about an hour with another candidate, so it doesn't fit a spare ten minutes, and Basic members get 5 a month.
- Expert feedback costs extra. 1:1 coaching runs $200 to $249 a session on top of any membership.
- A short refund window. Memberships are refundable within 5 days of purchase, so you have to judge the courses quickly.
- The name change. Some people searching for Exponent just want to know where it went. It's the same platform under a new name; if it worked for you before, nothing forces a switch.

Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview.
Read the table as two different jobs. Aced teaches you what interviewers look for and gives you people to practice with. CoPilot Interview checks whether you can deliver answers out loud: Mock Interview reads each question aloud, listens to your spoken answer and scores it, and coding questions use your chosen language and never auto-submit, so you can think in silence. It has no lessons and no human interviewers. CoPilot Interview also has a live Candidate Mode for real calls. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan. CoPilot Interview is not affiliated with Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.

interviewing.io is the closest swap for Aced's paid coaching if you're an engineer: anonymous sessions with senior, staff or principal engineers, with audio and chat but no video, from $179. Read our interviewing.io alternative guide or the head-to-head Exponent vs interviewing.io.
Hello Interview sells one-time Premium access to system design, low-level design, coding, AI coding and behavioral courses, with an AI Live Practice interviewer that runs a full system design interview out loud and gives a hire or no-hire decision for your target level. Its pricing page lists 1 month at $47 (regular $59), 1 year at $89 (regular $119) and lifetime at $299 (regular $399), with no auto-renewal. Note that it ended its human mock interviews and mentorship on May 31, 2026.
Big Interview, Yoodli and Huru suit non-engineers and anyone working on delivery. See our Big Interview review, Yoodli review and Huru review, or the comparison of Yoodli vs Big Interview.
Who should stay with Exponent (Aced)
- Product managers who want course depth. Aced's 2026 relaunch added an AI-first product management course, and our PM interview help page pairs well with it.
- System design candidates who want lessons plus a peer to explain trade-offs to. The System Design course was revamped in the relaunch; our system design interview practice page is a free companion.
- People who want a human on the other side without paying per session. Pro includes unlimited peer mocks.
- Anyone studying for several months, where the $12 a month annual rate for Pro beats any month-to-month price on this page.
If that's you, you don't need a replacement so much as a second tool: learn with Aced, then rehearse out loud with a scored AI mock.
How to try both before you pay
- Start on Aced Basic. It's free with no credit card: sample lessons, sample questions and 5 peer mocks a month.
- Run one CoPilot Interview mock. Download the free app for Windows or macOS, add your résumé and the job description, and pick 5 questions with the mix you expect. Or use the free browser AI mock interview, which has 113 real questions across 9 tracks and nothing to install.
- Compare the feedback. A peer's rubric notes tell you how a person heard you; a score out of 10 with a model answer tells you what to tighten. Note which one changed your next answer.
- Pay only for the gap. If you need courses, buy Aced and use the 5-day refund window to check it. If you need more spoken reps, CoPilot Interview's Standard plan gives you 60-minute sessions, up to 100 minutes a day, with no gap between sessions, or buy a 1-hour pack for $5.99.
- Book a human expert last. A coaching session or a paid mock is worth more once your stories and frameworks are solid, so save it for the final week or two.
Rehearse out loud before you buy a course
CoPilot Interview's free plan gives you 15 minutes every day, including Mock Interview, which builds questions from your résumé and the job description and scores each spoken answer out of 10. No card or signup, on Windows and macOS.
