If you want an interviewing.io alternative for daily practice, CoPilot Interview's free plan gives you 15 minutes of mock interviews every day, built from your résumé and the job description and scored out of 10, with no card or signup. interviewing.io's human mock interviews start at $179 a session as of October 2026, so most engineers do their volume practice somewhere cheaper and save interviewing.io for the last week or two before an onsite.
Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview, so weigh our view accordingly. Every interviewing.io fact below comes from its own homepage, FAQ and gift page, read on October 20, 2026, and every other tool's facts come from its own site the same month. What interviewing.io is
interviewing.io sells anonymous mock interviews with engineers from Meta, Google, OpenAI, Amazon and other top companies. Its homepage says its interviewers are senior, staff or principal engineers or engineering managers who make hiring decisions at FAANG and FAANG-adjacent companies, and its FAQ says each one has at least 4 years of experience, has run at least 20 interviews for that company and has passed 2 trial interviews.
- Format: a fully anonymous session in a collaborative code editor with audio and chat, but no video. Afterwards you can unmask and connect with your interviewer if you want.
- Subjects: algorithms and data structures, coding, system design, machine learning (algorithms and system design), front-end engineering, engineering management, behavioral, and staff-level-plus and manager interviews.
- Dedicated coaching: for Amazon, Google and Meta, a mentor from that company designs a lesson plan across 3, 5 or 10 one-on-one sessions.
- Free AI Interviewer: coding and system design interviews in the style of a FAANG mock, with feedback at the end, plus 200+ problems from Beyond Cracking the Coding Interview, which interviewing.io helped write.
- Interview replays: a library of recorded mock interviews, shared with both participants' permission, that you can filter by company, focus, level and language.
- Jobs portal: its FAQ says doing well in practice gets you access to warm introductions to hiring decision-makers.
The company is Interviewing.io Inc., based in San Francisco.
interviewing.io pricing as of October 2026
interviewing.io doesn't publish a full price list. Its FAQ gives the starting price and its gift page shows the per-interview price for gifts:
| Option | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AI Interviewer | Free | Coding and system design, FAANG-style |
| Human mock interview | From $179 a session | Varies by subject and whether you want an interviewer from a specific company |
| Gifted interviews | $179 each; 10% off for 4 or more | Buy sessions for someone else |
| Dedicated coaching (Amazon, Google, Meta) | Not published | 3, 5 or 10 sessions with a custom lesson plan |
The FAQ says that if you're unhappy with your interview, it will issue a full refund. We found no subscription plan; you pay per session. By our arithmetic, three mocks at the starting price cost $537, before any premium for an interviewer from a specific company.
Why people look for an interviewing.io alternative
- Cost per rep. At $179 or more a session, it's a finishing tool. If you want dozens of spoken reps before an onsite, paying per session adds up fast.
- No video. Sessions are audio and chat only, so you can't practice how you come across on camera.
- Engineering only. Every subject on its list is an engineering interview. Product, design and non-technical candidates won't find a track.
- The free AI option is narrow. The AI Interviewer covers coding and system design. For behavioral reps you book a paid human session.
- Prices aren't fully published. You see a starting price, and the dedicated coaching packages don't show a price on the site.
- You want practice from your own materials. If you want questions drawn from your résumé and the exact job description, you need a tool built for that.

The honest summary: CoPilot Interview can't give you a senior engineer's judgment on whether you'd pass at their company. It's for the reps you do first. Mock Interview reads each question aloud, listens to your spoken answer and scores it, and coding questions use your chosen language and never auto-submit, so you can think in silence. CoPilot Interview also has a live Candidate Mode for real calls. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan. CoPilot Interview is not affiliated with Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.

Aced coaching is the nearest human alternative: 1-hour video sessions with experts you filter by role and company. A coach booking page we checked lists $249 for one session, $675 for three and $999 for five, so per session it costs more than interviewing.io's starting price. See Exponent vs interviewing.io for the full comparison.
Aced Practice is where Pramp went: since July 2024, new Pramp sessions run there. On Aced Practice you're matched with a peer, each of you interviews the other for about 30 minutes, and you swap rubric notes. A peer may not have hiring experience, but it's real pressure with a real person. Compare it in CoPilot Interview vs Pramp and Pramp vs interviewing.io.
Hello Interview used to sell human mocks, but its own notice says its mock interview and mentorship programs ended on May 31, 2026. It now sells Premium content plus AI Live Practice, a full system design interview you run out loud that ends with a hire or no-hire decision for your target level; Premium includes 1 such interview with a month of access, 2 with a year and 4 with lifetime.
Huru is free for job seekers, with a live AI interviewer that asks follow-up questions and a score out of 100 for each answer. It's built around spoken answers, on video or audio only. Read our Huru review.
Who should still pay for interviewing.io
- Experienced engineers with a big-tech onsite coming up who want to hear how a real interviewer from that company judges them.
- System design, staff-level and engineering manager candidates, where peer feedback is weakest and experienced judgment matters most. Our system design mock interview guide covers how to run your own reps between sessions.
- Machine learning engineers, since it offers both ML algorithms and ML system design mocks.
- Anyone who freezes in front of strangers. Anonymity lowers the stakes while keeping the pressure of a real interviewer.
A cheaper prep plan that still ends with a real engineer
- Weeks 1 to 3: daily spoken reps. Run a CoPilot Interview Mock Interview from your résumé and the job description each day; the free plan covers 15 minutes. Drill patterns with the coding interview cheat sheet and practice architecture on the system design interview page.
- Try interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer. It gives you the FAANG-style coding and system design format before you pay for a human.
- Add a peer mock. One session on Aced Practice gets you used to answering a person, not a screen.
- Final 1 to 2 weeks: book one or two human mocks. Spend them on your weakest round, and ask for an interviewer from your target company.
- Turn the feedback into drills. Write down the two biggest gaps and rehearse exactly those before the onsite.

What is the best interviewing.io alternative?
For daily practice, CoPilot Interview's free plan gives you 15 minutes of mock interviews every day, scored out of 10 and built from your résumé and the job description. For human practice, Aced Practice, which now hosts Pramp sessions, offers free peer mocks, and Aced sells 1:1 coaching. We make CoPilot Interview, so weigh our view accordingly.
Is interviewing.io free?
Partly. Its AI Interviewer, which runs coding and system design interviews in the style of a FAANG mock, is free, and so are more than 200 problems from Beyond Cracking the Coding Interview. Mock interviews with human engineers are paid and start at $179 each as of October 2026.
How much does interviewing.io cost?
As of October 2026, its FAQ says human mock interviews start at $179, with the price depending on the subject and on whether you want an interviewer from a specific company. Gifted interviews are $179 each, with 10% off for four or more. It does not publish prices for its dedicated coaching packages.
Is there a cheaper way to practice with a real person?
Peer mock interviews are the cheapest. Aced Practice gives free users practice credits every month and matches you with another candidate. Paid experts cost more: Aced coaching lists $249 for one session on a coach page we checked, above interviewing.io's starting price of $179.
Does interviewing.io use video?
No. interviewing.io sessions are fully anonymous, with audio and chat in a collaborative code editor but no video. After the session you can choose to unmask and connect with your interviewer.
Can CoPilot Interview replace interviewing.io?
Not fully. CoPilot Interview gives you daily AI reps scored out of 10, but it cannot give you a senior engineer judging you by their company bar. Most engineers do their volume practice with an AI mock and book one or two human sessions before the onsite.
