Huru AI is a free AI mock interview app: it asks you interview questions, records your spoken answers on camera, scores each one out of 100 and suggests a stronger version. As of October 2026, every job-seeker feature is free with no subscription, and it runs in a web browser, on iPhone and iPad, and as a Chrome extension. Our verdict: it is one of the best no-cost ways to rehearse spoken answers on video, but there is no human feedback, no Android app, and nothing on its site about a code editor for coding rounds.
We make CoPilot Interview, which also offers AI mock interviews, so read this with that in mind. Everything below about Huru comes from Huru's own website, its terms of service and its App Store listing, checked in October 2026. Where Huru doesn't publish something, we say so instead of guessing.
What Huru is
Huru describes itself as an AI interview practice platform. You pick a role or paste a job post, answer each question out loud, and its scoring model rates the answer and suggests changes. It is built for spoken practice rather than typed answers, and it covers far more than tech: its interview library spans 242+ career roles across 29 categories.
The company details are thin but checkable. Huru's terms of service name Beatview as the operator and say the terms follow US law (last updated September 3, 2025). The iPhone app's seller on the App Store is Beatview, Inc. The site doesn't publish a founding date or an address, so we don't give one.
Huru features (as of October 2026)
Practice
- Interview library: ready-made interviews for 242+ roles, drawn from a question library Huru puts at more than 50,000 questions.
- Interviews from a job post: paste a job description, upload a job post or import one from the web, and Huru builds matching questions. Its Chrome extension does the same from a listing open in your browser.
- Custom interviews: write your own questions. The App Store listing says up to five per custom interview.
- Unlimited mock interviews on the free plan.
- Video practice: you answer on camera and microphone, then replay the recording. The App Store listing describes a choice of male or female interviewer voice, a short thinking pause, and up to two minutes per answer.
Scoring and feedback
- Score out of 100 for each answer, based on relevance, structure, specificity, impact and ownership, and articulation.
- Feedback report with notes on accuracy, grammar and confidence, plus a suggested stronger version of your answer.
- Progress tracking: a score history and an interview readiness score over time, with your strongest skill and what to work on next.
Huru is unusually candid about its limits. Its FAQ says the feedback is consistent but not infallible, that the AI can mishear words, and that scores are coaching signals, not hiring decisions or guarantees. Beyond mock interviews

Huru's pricing section lists two plans, and only one of them is for individuals.

Because individuals pay nothing, there is no refund policy to weigh. The only refund wording in Huru's terms sits in the standard App Store section about Apple's own obligations.

Who Huru fits, and who it doesn't
Good fit
- Job seekers on a zero budget who want as many spoken reps as they can fit in.
- Anyone who wants to watch themselves back on video to check pacing, filler words and eye contact.
- Candidates outside tech. The 242+ role library covers fields where most AI interview tools have little to offer.
- Career centers that need admin tools and analytics across many students.
Look elsewhere if
- You need to write and run code. Huru's pages describe answering out loud on camera and don't mention a code editor. Use a coding-capable mock instead, and keep our coding interview cheat sheet open while you study.
- You want a human on the other side. Peer mock interviews or paid sessions with working engineers give feedback that no AI score can, such as whether your story felt real.
- You want practice built from your own résumé. Huru builds interviews from a role or a job post. If you want questions drawn from both your résumé and the job description, a tool that reads both will feel closer to the real round.
- You live on Android. The web app works, but there's no native app to install.

How to get the most out of Huru
- Use the real job post. Paste the listing you're applying to rather than picking a generic role, so the questions match the job.
- Draft stories before you record. Behavioral answers improve fastest when the story exists first. Our STAR story builder turns rough notes into a Situation, Task, Action, Result outline.
- Watch three recordings, not all of them. Pick your highest and lowest scores and one in between, and watch the first 30 seconds of each. That is where rambling starts.
- Redo the weakest answer at once. Answer the same question again straight after reading the feedback, then compare the two scores.
- Read the transcript before trusting a low score. Huru says the AI can mishear words, so a low score may reflect a transcription slip rather than a weak answer.
