The best Huru alternatives are CoPilot Interview if you want mock interviews built from both your résumé and the job description, with coding and system design questions, Orai if you want a native Android or iPhone app for speaking practice, Big Interview if you want lessons plus video feedback on body language, and interviewing.io or Aced Practice if you want a human on the other side. Huru itself is free for job seekers with unlimited mock interviews as of October 2026, so people switch for missing features, not price.
Below are a summary table, a review of each tool with honest limits, and a decision guide by what Huru lacks for you. We make CoPilot Interview, so every competitor fact comes from the vendor's own site, checked in October 2026.

What Huru is, and why people look for a Huru alternative
Huru is an AI interview practice platform. Its homepage says it is free for job seekers with no subscription and no paid tier; the only paid plan is Enterprise for universities and organizations. As of October 2026 the free plan includes:
- A live AI interviewer that holds a spoken conversation and asks follow-up questions, with three interviewer styles, three pressure levels and lengths of 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes, on video or audio only.
- Unlimited mock interviews, with every answer scored out of 100 on relevance, structure, specificity, impact and articulation.
- A library of 50,000+ questions, custom interviews and a Chrome extension that turns a job post into a practice interview.
- Five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French.
It runs as a web app in desktop and mobile browsers and as an iPhone app. Android users use the web app; there's no native Android app listed.
Because Huru costs nothing, the reasons to look elsewhere are gaps, not price:
- Questions from your résumé. Huru builds interviews from a role, a pasted job description or your own questions; its site doesn't say interviews draw on your résumé.
- Coding rounds. Its pages describe spoken answers and don't mention a code editor.
- Android and desktop apps. No native Android app, and no Windows or Mac application.
- A human. All feedback is AI.
Our Huru AI review covers it in depth, and CoPilot Interview vs Huru compares the two side by side.
The 7 best Huru alternatives, reviewed
1. CoPilot Interview: best for résumé-based and technical practice
CoPilot Interview is a desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+. Its Mock Interview mode builds the session from both your résumé and the job description. You choose the level, 3, 5 or 8 questions, the mix (behavioral, technical, system design, coding), your coding language and an optional focus. It reads each question aloud, you answer out loud, and each answer is scored out of 10 with what worked, what to fix and a model answer, then a report card.
Strengths:
- Questions from your own background, which makes "walk me through this project" practice realistic.
- Coding questions in your chosen language that never auto-submit, plus system design questions.
- Free every day: 15 minutes, sessions up to 15 minutes, all four modes, no account and no card. It isn't a trial.
- The browser AI mock interview has 113 real questions across 9 tracks with nothing to install. The app supports 50+ languages.
Limits: less free volume than Huru's unlimited plan, no video recording of your answers, and no human feedback. The full app is desktop only; the phone companion is an Android beta outside Google Play, and an iPhone version is coming. Paid plans start at $14.99/mo Standard (sale; regular $19.99) with 60-minute sessions, up to 100 minutes a day and no gap between sessions. It also has a live Candidate Mode for real calls. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
2. Orai: best native phone app
If you liked practicing on your phone and you're on Android, Orai has native apps for iOS and Android plus a web app. It's a public-speaking coach that scores filler words, pace, clarity and energy as soon as you finish speaking and suggests one thing to try next time.
Limits: it coaches delivery rather than interview content, so it won't score whether your answer fit the question. It downloads free; its site doesn't list paid-plan prices.
3. Big Interview: best for lessons and camera feedback
Big Interview pairs a lesson library with practice. Its Interview Simulator runs voice-only mock interviews personalized from your résumé or a job description, with feedback on delivery and answer quality and 10,000+ questions. VideoAI reviews recorded answers for pace, vocabulary, eye contact and body language.
Strengths: it can use your résumé, it teaches frameworks, and its pricing page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Limits: no free plan or trial (only a free course): $39 for 30 days, $99 for 3 months or $299 lifetime as of October 2026. We found no coding practice on its site. See our Big Interview review.
4. Yoodli: best for practice beyond interviews
Yoodli is an AI roleplay platform now built mainly for sales and training teams, though its pricing page lists interview prep and public speaking for individuals. Starter is free with up to 5 roleplays in total; Pro is $8/mo billed annually for up to 10 a week; Advanced is $20/mo billed annually for unlimited roleplays.
Limits: far less free practice than Huru, and Yoodli says it does not offer refunds on cancellation. See Huru vs Yoodli.
5. Aced Practice (formerly Pramp): best free practice with a person
Pramp's homepage says that since July 2024 all new Pramp sessions run on Aced Practice, from Aced (the new name of Exponent). Its practice page describes matched peer sessions of about an hour, where each of you interviews the other for about 30 minutes and trades rubric-based feedback.
Strengths: free with monthly credits, and tracks for behavioral, product management, system design, data structures and algorithms, finance and more.
Limits: your partner is another candidate, sessions need a time slot, and AI feedback and transcripts need a paid membership.
6. interviewing.io: best for engineers who need a real interviewer
interviewing.io runs anonymous audio-and-chat mock interviews with senior engineers who make hiring decisions at large tech companies. Its FAQ says interviews start at $179, that its AI Interviewer for coding and system design is free, and that it will issue a full refund if you're unhappy with your interview.
Limits: engineering roles only, no video, and expensive for volume. Read the interviewing.io review.
7. IGotAnOffer: best human coach outside engineering
Huru's question library reaches well beyond tech, and so does IGotAnOffer: its coaches include product managers, consultants, investment bankers, recruiters and engineers. A credit costs about $50, coaches charge 2 to 5 credits per one-hour session (a 45-minute mock and 15 minutes of feedback), and credits last 12 months.
Limits: $100 to $250 an hour, so it's for one or two sessions before the real thing, not daily reps.

How we chose these Huru alternatives
We compared each vendor's published pricing pages, homepages and FAQs, checked in October 2026. We didn't run paid hands-on tests of every product, and we left out user counts and success claims because they aren't independently audited. Since Huru is free, we judged alternatives on what they add rather than on price alone, and we left out tools whose main pitch is help during live calls.
- Does it fill a gap Huru has: résumé-based questions, coding, Android, desktop or a human?
- Is there a free option that allows real practice?
- What does a 4 to 8 week search cost, and what are the refund terms?
- Does it score the answer, the delivery, or both?
Which Huru alternative should you pick?
- You want questions from your own résumé: CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview, free for 15 minutes a day.
- You have coding or system design rounds: CoPilot Interview for daily reps, interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer, then a paid human session if the stakes are high. Keep the coding interview cheat sheet open while you study.
- You're on Android and want a native app: Orai for speaking practice, or Huru's web app in your browser.
- You want lessons and body-language feedback: Big Interview, after asking your career center whether it already licenses it.
- You want a real person: Aced Practice for free peers, IGotAnOffer or interviewing.io for paid experts.
- Huru already covers you: stay with it, and draft your stories first with the STAR story builder so each rep counts.
