The best video interview practice tools are CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview for scored spoken answers built from your résumé and the job (we make it), Big Interview for on-camera delivery feedback, Huru for free recorded video practice, and the practice question built into your own interview platform. A recorded interview tests what you say and how you come across on camera, so most people get the best results by pairing one content tool with one on-camera tool.
This list is about practice only. A one-way video interview, where you record answers to preset questions and the hiring team watches them later, is an assessment. Take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules — use CoPilot Interview to practice beforehand. If the format is new to you, start with our explainer on what a one-way video interview is and which settings the employer controls.

How we chose these tools
We compared the published features, free tiers, prices and platforms on each vendor's own website and help center in October 2026. We did not run a user survey, and we don't repeat vendors' claims about user counts or results. A tool made the list if it does at least one of these well:
- Rehearses the format: a preset question, a short think, then a spoken answer against a time limit.
- Gives useful feedback: on content (structure, specifics, relevance) or on delivery (pace, filler words, lighting, framing).
- Has a free or low-cost way to start and a price the vendor publishes.
Google Interview Warmup is not on the list: Google retired it in April 2026. Our page on Google Interview Warmup and its replacements covers what changed.
The 8 best video interview practice tools
1. CoPilot Interview Mock Interview (ours): best for scored answers built from your résumé
CoPilot Interview is a desktop app for Windows and macOS made by NeuraSense AI LLC. It is not affiliated with Microsoft Copilot. Its Mock Interview mode builds the interview from your résumé and the job description. You choose the level, how many questions (3, 5 or 8), the mix of behavioral, technical, system design and coding, and an optional focus.
The AI reads each question aloud and listens to your spoken answer. Each answer is scored out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer, and a report card closes the session. That loop of question, spoken answer and specific fix is the core of video interview prep, because most one-way questions are behavioral prompts you answer in a minute or two.
- Strengths: questions drawn from your own background and the posting; a score and a model answer for every response; the free plan gives you 15 minutes every day with no card and no signup. If you'd rather not install anything, the browser AI mock interview has 113 real questions across 9 tracks.
- Limits: it doesn't use your camera, so it won't comment on eye contact, lighting or framing. It also doesn't copy a one-way platform's countdown, so time yourself. Free sessions are capped at 15 minutes.
- Price (as of October 2026): free plan $0; Standard $14.99 a month on sale (regular $19.99) for 60-minute sessions, up to 100 minutes a day, no gap between sessions; or a one-time 1-hour pack for $5.99 that never expires.
- Who it fits: anyone whose answers ramble, run long or skip the result. Pair it with a camera tool from this list.
2. Big Interview: best for on-camera delivery feedback
Big Interview combines a video lesson library with an Interview Simulator and VideoAI, which analyzes your recorded answers. According to its VideoAI feedback article (updated October 16, 2026), the report covers three areas: delivery and verbal cues (pace, tone, filler words, vocabulary), content and confidence (clarity and fit with the role), and technical and nonverbal factors (volume and lighting). Answers shorter than 30 seconds get no score, and eye contact does not affect your overall score.
- Strengths: the most course-like option; feedback on how you sound and look on camera, which is exactly what a recorded screen is judged on.
- Limits: no free plan or free trial on its pricing page. Its FAQ says Safari isn't supported on computers, background blur isn't available while recording, and recordings can't be downloaded directly.
- Price (as of October 2026): $39 for 30 days, $99 for 3 months or $299 for lifetime access, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its FAQ says it's free if your school or organization subscribes.
- Who it fits: students and career changers whose school or workforce program already pays for it, and anyone willing to pay for structured lessons. Full details are in our Big Interview review.
3. Huru: best free recorded video practice
Huru records your spoken answers on camera and microphone, then scores each one and suggests a stronger version. As of October 2026 its site says every job-seeker feature is free with no subscription, including unlimited mock interviews, the full feedback report, custom interviews and a question library of more than 50,000 questions. Its Chrome extension turns a job post into a practice interview, and its current iPhone app adds an AI interviewer you talk with on video or audio.
- Strengths: the closest free match to a one-way interview: a question, a recorded video answer and a replay you can watch back.
- Limits: no human feedback and no native Android app (Android users use the web app). AI scores are coaching signals, not hiring decisions.
- Price (as of October 2026): $0 for job seekers; organizations pay for Enterprise.
- Who it fits: anyone who wants unlimited on-camera reps at no cost. See our Huru AI review.
4. Yoodli: best for delivery habits like pace and filler words
Yoodli is an AI roleplay and speaking-coach platform. Its practice guide says you start an interview by entering a role and company, pick the interviewer's demeanor and can choose questions from a bank. It needs your microphone; giving it camera access adds feedback on body language and centering.
- Strengths: focused coaching on how you speak, which suits people who know what to say but say it too fast or with too many fillers.
- Limits: much of the site now targets companies buying training for staff, and the free plan is small.
- Price (as of October 2026): Starter includes 5 lifetime sessions; Pro is $8 a month and Advanced $20 a month, both billed annually.
- Who it fits: people fixing delivery rather than content. Compare it in CoPilot Interview vs Yoodli or our Yoodli review.
5. The practice question inside your interview platform: best for rehearsing the real screen
Most one-way platforms let you rehearse on the real recording screen before the scored questions start. Use it every time; it is the only practice that matches your exact camera, browser and layout.
- HireVue: its candidate tips article (November 2023) says only you can see your practice recordings. Its prep guide says video assessments run in a desktop browser or the HireVue app on mobile.
- Spark Hire: its candidate help article (updated July 11, 2026) says setup includes a quick practice video you can review and retake before the actual questions.
- Willo: its candidate guide lets you practice with a sample question as many times as you need, recommends the latest Google Chrome and says no apps or downloads are required (as of October 2026).
Limits: the practice prompts are generic, there's no feedback, and you only get access once you're invited. For role-specific questions, see our list of HireVue software engineer questions and how to answer them.
6. Aced Practice (formerly Pramp): best for live video practice with a person
Pramp's homepage says all new Pramp sessions have been hosted on Aced Practice since July 2024. The Aced pricing page lists a free Basic plan with 5 peer mocks a month. Sessions pair you with another candidate on a video call, and you take turns as interviewer.
- Strengths: a real person watching you, which builds composure for two-way interviews on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
- Limits: partner quality varies, sessions run on a schedule, and one-way interviews have no one to react to, so this complements recorded practice rather than replacing it.
- Price (as of October 2026): Basic $0; Pro $79 a month, or $12 a month on the annual plan, for unlimited peer mocks; Expert $99 a month, or $20 a month on the annual plan, adds AI mock interviews. Aced offers full refunds within 5 days of purchase.
- Who it fits: tech candidates who also face live rounds. See CoPilot Interview vs Pramp.
7. ChatGPT voice or Gemini Live: best free spoken drills
A general AI assistant with voice can ask you questions out loud and react to your answers. OpenAI's ChatGPT Voice help article lists voice on the Free plan, with usage limits, on web, iOS and Android. Google's help center says Gemini Live runs in the Gemini mobile app and isn't available in the Gemini web app (as of October 2026).
Give it a tight brief, for example: Act as a recruiter running a recorded screen for [role]. Ask one question, wait for my spoken answer, then tell me in two sentences what to cut and what was missing.
- Limits: you run the session yourself, nothing grades your video, and features vary by plan.
- Who it fits: a $0 budget, or a quick warm-up the morning of your recording. More ideas are in our ChatGPT mock interview prompts.
8. Your phone or webcam and a timer: best for seeing what a reviewer sees
The cheapest tool is also the most honest. Set up exactly as you will on the day: same room, same light, camera at eye level. Record three answers against a two-minute timer, then watch them twice, once with the sound off (posture, framing, glances away from the lens) and once without looking (filler words, pace, a missing result).
- Limits: no feedback beyond your own eyes, so pair it with a scored tool.
- Who it fits: everyone, at least once before the real thing.
Which video interview practice tool should you pick?
- Your answers are the problem (they ramble, run long or never reach a result): CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview, then redo your lowest-scoring answer the next day. Draft stories first in the free STAR story builder.
- Your on-camera delivery is the problem: Big Interview if your school provides it, otherwise Huru for free, or Yoodli with the camera on.
- You have a recording due this week: two days of scored spoken practice, one day of recorded video, then the platform's own practice question right before you start.
- Your budget is $0: CoPilot Interview's free plan for content, Huru for video, and your own phone for a final check.
- You also have live rounds coming: add Aced Practice peer mocks and read our Zoom interview tips.
- Nerves are the main issue: repetition lowers the stakes. Our guide to interview anxiety techniques pairs well with daily reps.
A one-week video interview practice plan
This is our suggested schedule for the week before a one-way screen. Adjust it to your deadline.
| Day | What to do | Tool | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | Write four STAR stories: a challenge, a mistake, teamwork and a result you're proud of | STAR story builder | 30 min |
| Tue | Five behavioral questions from the job description, answered aloud and scored | Mock Interview | 15 min |
| Wed | Three recorded video answers; watch them back once with the sound off | Huru or your webcam | 20 min |
| Thu | Redo your two lowest-scoring answers from Tuesday | Mock Interview | 15 min |
| Fri | Practice "tell me about yourself" until it fits in 90 seconds | Phone timer | 15 min |
| Interview day | Test camera, mic and light, then use the platform's practice question | Your invitation | 10 min |
For the opener, our guide to answering "tell me about yourself" has a structure you can fit inside a short time limit.

What is the best free video interview practice tool?
For recorded video answers, Huru is the strongest free option: as of October 2026 its site says every job-seeker feature is free. For scored practice of what you say, CoPilot Interview's free plan gives you 15 minutes of Mock Interview every day. Many people use both.
Can I practice on the real one-way interview platform before I start?
Usually, yes. HireVue says only you can see your practice recordings, Spark Hire includes a practice video you can review and retake during setup, and Willo offers a sample question you can repeat. You get access only after you're invited, so do your main practice elsewhere first.
Can I use an AI tool while I record a one-way video interview?
No. Take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules. Use practice tools beforehand, then record your answers on your own.
Do AI practice scores match how employers rate video interviews?
Not necessarily. Each employer decides how recordings are reviewed, and some use people while others use software. Treat any practice score as a coaching signal that shows what to fix, not a prediction of the outcome.
How long should a video interview answer be?
The employer sets the limit for each question. As a rule of thumb, plan to finish comfortably before it, for example in about 60 to 90 seconds when the limit is two minutes, so you have room to land the result.
Is Google Interview Warmup still available for video interview practice?
No. Google retired Interview Warmup in April 2026. Free replacements include Huru for recorded video answers and CoPilot Interview's free daily Mock Interview for scored spoken practice.
