Big 4 and IT Services Interviews (2026): How Deloitte, TCS, Accenture and Others Hire

Big 4 firms and large IT services companies mostly hire in the same broad order: an online application, an online assessment, one or two interviews that test your subject knowledge, an HR, managerial or partner conversation, and then an offer followed by document and background checks. Steps vary by employer, role, location and country, and campus drives in India often add a group discussion.

This guide covers Deloitte, PwC, EY and KPMG, plus Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro and Genpact. It is written for freshers and early-career candidates, many in India and the Philippines.

How the Big 4 interview process usually works

As candidates and job postings commonly describe it, these are the stages from application to offer:

  1. Application on the firm's careers site or through a campus placement cell.
  2. Online assessment of numbers, logic and English, sometimes with situational judgment or coding.
  3. Group discussion or recorded video interview in some campus drives and graduate programs.
  4. Technical or case interview on accounting, audit, tax, programming or a short business problem.
  5. HR, managerial or partner interview on motivation, communication and flexibility.
  6. Offer and checks, including document verification before a joining date.

Experienced (lateral) hires often skip the test.

The nine employers in this guide

In the Philippines, the Big 4 work through member firms with local names: SGV & Co. (EY), Isla Lipana & Co. (PwC), Navarro Amper & Co. (Deloitte) and R.G. Manabat & Co. (KPMG). Search both names when you research.

Common questions and three sample answers

Expect tell me about yourself, why this firm, your project or internship, a time you worked under pressure, and relocation or shifts. For audit and tax basics, see our accountant interview questions.

"Why do you want to join a Big 4 firm?" "I want structured training and a wide range of clients. During my BCom I interned at a small CA firm doing bank reconciliations, and I liked finding out why numbers did not match. A Big 4 audit team would let me do that work at a much larger scale while I finish my CA exams."

"Tell me about your final-year project." "My team of four built a library booking app in Java with a MySQL database. I designed the tables and wrote the search queries. The first version was slow because every search scanned the whole table, so I added an index on the title column. It taught me to test with realistic data, not five sample rows."

"Are you open to relocation or night shifts?" "Yes. Client work can follow another country's hours, and I have discussed it with my family. I can join any city on the posting. If there is a choice I would pick Pune, where I have relatives, but it would not stop me accepting another location."

A 7-day practice plan

  1. Day 1: Read the posting and the firm's careers site. Write three reasons the role fits you.
  2. Day 2: Write a 60-second introduction and say it aloud five times.
  3. Day 3: Do 30 minutes of timed aptitude practice and review every mistake.
  4. Day 4: Revise basics: financial statements and journal entries, or OOP, SQL and your project.
  5. Day 5: Prepare four stories (teamwork, pressure, a mistake, leadership) with our STAR method template.
  6. Day 6: Run a full mock interview out loud and redo your weakest answer.
  7. Day 7: Prepare documents, test your camera and internet, and write two questions to ask.

Where CoPilot Interview fits

Most of this plan is practice, which is where our AI interview assistant helps most. In an AI mock interview you paste the job description and your resume; an AI interviewer reads questions aloud and scores each spoken answer out of 10, with what worked, what to improve and a model answer. It covers HR, behavioral and situational questions, not only technical ones.

The free plan includes mock interviews and 15 minutes of live help every day, with no credit card. In low- and middle-income countries, including India and the Philippines, the pricing page shows a regional price: Standard is $14.99 a month there instead of the US price of $24.99. Live help is only for interviews where it is allowed, so follow your employer's rules; for online tests, group discussions and in-person rounds, use it to prepare, not in the room. Disclosure: CoPilot Interview is our product, so weigh what we say about it accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Big 4 interview process for freshers?

Freshers usually apply online or through campus, take an online aptitude test, then have a technical interview on accounting, audit or tax basics and a final HR or partner interview. Some campus drives add a group discussion. Steps vary by firm, role, country and year.

How many rounds are there in an IT services company interview?

Candidates commonly describe three or four: an online test, a technical interview, sometimes a managerial round, and an HR interview. Some companies combine technical and HR questions in one conversation on the same day. Experienced hires often skip the test and have two or three interviews.

Do Big 4 or IT services companies charge a fee to apply or join?

Legitimate employers do not ask candidates to pay for applications, tests, interviews, training or offer letters. If someone asks for money to confirm a job, treat it as a scam and do not pay. Apply only through the company's own careers site or your college placement cell.

Is the Big 4 interview hard?

The questions are rarely tricky, but the bar for clear basics and clear English is high. Candidates who struggle usually cannot explain their own resume or project simply, so practice that out loud first.
