The best AI interview tools for non-native English speakers are CoPilot Interview for scored mock interviews built from your résumé and the job description (we make it), ELSA Speak and BoldVoice for pronunciation, Yoodli for pace and filler words, and Huru for free, unlimited mock interviews with grammar feedback. No single tool covers everything, so most people pair one pronunciation app with one mock interview tool.
Below are eight options, what each one actually does for a second-language speaker, and what it costs as of October 2026, checked on each vendor's own site. If you want speaking tactics rather than tools, start with our 11 tactics for technical interviews in English.

What a second-language speaker needs from an AI interview tool
Non-native speakers usually struggle with one of three things, and each needs a different kind of tool. Name yours first.
- Being understood. Interviewers ask you to repeat yourself, or a word comes out differently than you meant. That is a pronunciation problem, and pronunciation apps (ELSA Speak, BoldVoice) are built for it.
- Finding the words under pressure. You know the answer, but you translate in your head, pause, and fill gaps with "um" and "so basically". That is a fluency and delivery problem. Delivery feedback (Yoodli, Big Interview) and lots of spoken reps help most.
- Saying the right thing. Your English is fine, but answers run long, lose structure or miss the point of the question. That is an answer-quality problem, and scored mock interviews (CoPilot Interview, Huru) help most.
Two features matter for all three. First, a transcript of what the tool heard: if it mis-hears you, you can tell whether the problem was your pronunciation or the tool. Second, practice out loud: typed answers do not train the skill an interview tests. Our guide to how AI tools score interview answers explains why a score is a coaching signal, not a verdict.
The 8 best AI interview tools for non-native speakers, reviewed
1. CoPilot Interview: scored mock interviews from your résumé (ours)
CoPilot Interview is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. Its Mock Interview mode reads your résumé and the job description, then builds a question set for that role. You choose the level, how many questions (3, 5 or 8) and the mix: behavioral, technical, system design or coding. Each question is read aloud, you answer out loud, and every answer is scored out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer. The round ends with a report card.
Why it helps a non-native speaker: hearing each question spoken trains your listening for a real interviewer's voice, and the model answer shows you a natural, spoken way to phrase what you meant. Redo your weakest answer right after reading it; the second attempt is where most of the improvement happens. Coding questions never auto-submit, so you can think quietly before you explain.
If you don't want to install anything, the free browser AI mock interview has 113 real questions across 9 tracks (behavioral, system design, coding, data science and ML, frontend, DevOps, SQL, product and security) with an instant grade and no signup. The free STAR story builder and tell-me-about-yourself builder help you write answers before you say them. The app supports 50+ languages.
- Price: free plan with 15 minutes a day, every day, no credit card and no signup; Standard is $14.99/month on sale (regular $19.99) for 60-minute sessions and up to 100 minutes a day. See pricing.
- Limits: it scores the content and structure of your answers, not your pronunciation or accent. Pair it with a pronunciation app if being understood is your main problem.
- Fits: anyone with a specific interview coming up who wants practice tied to that job.
2. ELSA Speak: pronunciation feedback with an Interview Coach
ELSA Speak is an English speaking app built around AI pronunciation feedback tuned to your voice. Its site also lists AI role-play conversations across everyday scenarios, a bilingual AI tutor for beginners, and an Interview Coach for practicing responses to typical interview questions.
- Strengths: sound-level pronunciation feedback is its core, which no mock interview tool offers. Short daily lessons fit around a job search.
- Limits: it is a phone app; its FAQ says it can't be used on a PC or laptop. Interview content is one feature among many, not the whole product.
- Price: a free version that includes the first two lessons of each topic, and a 7-day trial with full access and no credit card, per its FAQ. Paid ELSA Pro prices differ by plan and region, so check in the app.
- Fits: speakers who are often asked to repeat themselves.
3. BoldVoice: accent training with coach-led lessons
BoldVoice is an accent training app for non-native English speakers. It pairs video lessons from dialect coaches with instant AI feedback on pronunciation and stress, plus AI role-play conversation practice, personalized learning paths and daily exercises.
- Strengths: the lessons explain how to make a sound, not just whether you got it right, which helps with sounds you have never produced before.
- Limits: it has no interview-specific practice mode on its site, so you still need a mock interview tool for answer content.
- Price: a 7-day free trial, then $24.99/month or $149.99/year, as shown on its own start page in October 2026.
- Fits: people with a few weeks before interviews who want structured accent work.
4. Yoodli: delivery feedback on pace and filler words
Yoodli is an AI roleplay platform for communication coaching. Its feedback covers pacing, clarity, filler words and delivery, and its help center lists practice in more than 20 languages, including US, UK and Australian English variants that adjust transcripts and feedback. You set the practice language before each session. See our Yoodli review and CoPilot Interview vs Yoodli.
- Strengths: if you speak too fast when nervous or lean on filler words, Yoodli measures exactly that, with a transcript to review.
- Limits: the company now sells mainly to teams for sales and manager training, so interview-specific content is thinner than in dedicated interview tools.
- Price: Starter includes 5 lifetime sessions (any session over 30 seconds counts). Pro is $8/month billed annually for up to 10 roleplays a week; Advanced is $20/month billed annually for unlimited roleplays.
- Fits: speakers whose English is accurate but whose delivery is rushed.
5. Huru: free unlimited mock interviews with grammar feedback
Huru runs AI mock interviews from a role library or a pasted job post. It scores each answer out of 100 on relevance, structure, specificity, impact and articulation, and its feedback covers the grammar and articulation of your spoken answer. Interviews can run on video or audio only, and you can replay recordings with a synced transcript. Read our Huru AI review for the details.
- Strengths: unlimited free practice, which matters when you need many reps to get comfortable. It runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French, and writes your debrief in the language you used.
- Limits: its site does not list a pronunciation score. No Android app; Android users use the web app.
- Price: $0 for job seekers, with no subscription, as of October 2026.
- Fits: anyone on a zero budget who wants volume.
6. Big Interview: lessons plus video feedback
Big Interview combines video lessons with an AI Interview Simulator. Its VideoAI feature checks your pace of speech, your vocabulary (including filler words such as "um" and "like"), eye contact and body language on recorded answers. Our Big Interview review covers the rest.
- Strengths: a structured course with frameworks for answers, useful if you also need to learn how interviews in English-speaking countries usually run.
- Limits: no free plan, and it doesn't offer accent or pronunciation coaching.
- Price: $39 for 30 days, $99 for 3 months or $299 for lifetime access, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Some schools and workforce programs provide access, so ask yours first.
- Fits: career changers and new grads who want a course, not just a question bank.
7. Speak: everyday English conversation practice
Speak is a speaking-first language app with an AI tutor for practice conversations and pronunciation feedback. It teaches English to non-English speakers, and its business version adds workplace role plays for meetings, presentations and client conversations.
- Strengths: daily conversation practice builds the general fluency that interviews draw on.
- Limits: its site does not mention job interviews, so treat it as fluency training, not interview prep.
- Price: a 7-day free trial, then Premium or Premium Plus; Speak says prices vary by plan, region and promotion, so check the app.
- Fits: intermediate speakers with more than a month before interviews.
8. ChatGPT Voice or Gemini Live: free conversation partners
General AI assistants can play an interviewer by voice. OpenAI's ChatGPT Voice help page lists limited voice access on the Free plan, on web, iOS, Android and the Windows app. Google's Gemini plans page lists Gemini Live in the free Gemini app plan, and Google says some features require setup or a subscription.
- Strengths: free, patient and available any time. You can ask it to speak more slowly, rephrase a question, or correct your grammar after each answer.
- Limits: you have to set up and steer the whole session, and there is no consistent scoring. Free usage limits can change.
- Price: free plans available; paid plans are listed on each vendor's site.
- Fits: extra low-stakes reps between structured sessions. Our guides to ChatGPT voice mode interview practice and interview practice with Gemini Live include prompts.
How we chose these tools
We compared what each vendor publishes about its features, free option, price and platforms, checked on its own website and help pages in October 2026. We did not run user surveys, and we don't claim hands-on tests or success rates. We included a tool if it does at least one of three things for a second-language speaker: gives feedback on pronunciation, gives feedback on delivery (pace, filler words, grammar), or scores spoken answers to interview questions. We left out tools that only accept typed answers.
We make CoPilot Interview, so read its entry with that in mind. We marked it "Best choice" only for scored mock interviews built from your own résumé and target job, which is the one thing it does that the others on this list don't.
Which one should you pick?
| Your situation | Start with | Add |
|---|---|---|
| Interviewers often ask you to repeat yourself | ELSA Speak or BoldVoice, 15 minutes a day | A mock interview once you feel clearer |
| You speak fast or use many filler words when nervous | Yoodli or Big Interview's VideoAI | Our interview anxiety techniques |
| Your English is fine but answers ramble | CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview, scored out of 10 | The free STAR story builder |
| Interview in the next few days, no budget | The free browser mock interview and Huru | A friend reading questions aloud |
| Interview in Spanish, French, German or Portuguese | Huru, which runs in those languages | Our guide to interviewing in other languages |
| A month or more to prepare | Speak or BoldVoice for daily fluency | One scored mock interview per week |
A two-week practice plan that combines them
This is a plan we suggest, not a rule. Fifteen to twenty minutes a day is enough if you do it every day.
- Days 1–2: build your core answers. Write your self-introduction and three STAR stories. Keep each to about two minutes spoken. Use simple sentences you can say without thinking.
- Days 3–7: fix the sounds. Ten minutes in a pronunciation app, then say your self-introduction out loud three times. Mark any word you stumble on and swap it for an easier one if you can.
- Days 8–10: add pressure. Run a scored mock interview with three questions. Read the model answer for your lowest score, then answer that question again in your own words.
- Days 11–13: work on delivery. Record a full answer and check pace and filler words. Replace each filler word with a one-second pause.
- Day 14: full rehearsal. A five-question mock interview, start to finish, without stopping. Note the questions that caught you off guard and practice those first next time.

What is the best AI interview tool for non-native English speakers?
It depends on what holds you back. For scored practice answering real interview questions out loud, use an AI mock interview such as CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview (we make it). For being understood, use a pronunciation app such as ELSA Speak or BoldVoice. For pace and filler words, Yoodli and Big Interview give delivery feedback. Most people get the best result from one pronunciation tool plus one mock interview tool.
Can AI help me improve my English accent for interviews?
Yes, with the right kind of tool. Accent and pronunciation apps such as ELSA Speak and BoldVoice listen to you speak and give feedback on individual sounds and stress. Mock interview tools mostly grade what you say, not how each word sounds, so they do not replace a pronunciation app. You do not need to lose your accent to interview well; the goal is to be easy to understand.
Is there a free AI interview practice tool for non-native speakers?
Yes. As of October 2026, Huru says every job-seeker feature is free, CoPilot Interview has a free plan with 15 minutes a day and a browser mock interview with no signup, and the free plans of ChatGPT and Gemini include voice conversations with usage limits. ELSA Speak has a limited free version, and BoldVoice and Speak offer 7-day free trials.
Should I practice interview answers in English or in my native language?
Practice in the language the interview will be held in. You can plan a story in your native language, but the skill an interview tests is saying it clearly in English under time pressure, so the final rehearsals should be spoken in English, out loud, several times.
Do AI interview tools understand accented English?
Usually, but accuracy drops with strong accents, fast speech, background noise and jargon. Pick a tool that shows a transcript of what it heard, so you can tell whether a low score came from your answer or from a transcription mistake. Test any tool with two or three answers before you rely on its scores.
Is CoPilot Interview related to Microsoft Copilot?
No. CoPilot Interview is made by NeuraSense AI LLC and is not affiliated with Microsoft, Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.
