The best AI mock interview tools are CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview for spoken questions built from your résumé and the job description, scored out of 10 (we make it); Huru for free, unlimited video mock interviews; and interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer for coding and system design. Yoodli is the pick for delivery feedback, Big Interview for a voice-only phone-screen simulator, and Aced (formerly Exponent) or Final Round AI if you want AI mocks inside a larger paid prep suite.
What separates these tools is how the mock session itself works: where the questions come from, whether you answer by voice, video or code, how the answer is scored, and whether the AI asks a follow-up. This page compares exactly that, with free options and prices checked on each vendor's site as of October 2026. If you only want sites that cost nothing, our list of free mock interview websites goes deeper on free tiers, including peer practice with a person.

How each AI mock interview session works
A mock interview is only as useful as its feedback loop. Here is what each tool says it does in a session, from its own pages as of October 2026.
| Tool | Questions come from | You answer by | Feedback |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoPilot Interview | Best choice: your résumé plus the job description, with level, count (3, 5 or 8) and mix you choose | Voice; coding questions add a code box | Best choice: score out of 10 per answer, what to fix, a model answer, then a report card |
| Huru | A role library (242+ careers), a pasted job post, or your own questions | Video or audio only | Score out of 100 per answer with a suggested stronger version |
| interviewing.io | Coding and system design problems in a FAANG mock style | Code and explanation | Feedback at the end of the session |
| Yoodli | Role and company you enter, plus an interview question bank | Voice, optional camera | Analysis after the session; body-language notes with camera on; AI follow-up questions |
| Big Interview | Your résumé or a job description; a library of 10,000+ questions | Voice only (PracticeAI); video in VideoAI | Report on delivery and answer quality |
| Aced Expert | Aced's question database and courses | See vendor site | AI interview feedback and an AI coach |
| Final Round AI | Your target role and résumé, in one of eight scenarios | Voice | Automatic debrief that flags weak moments and areas to re-drill |
| ChatGPT Voice / Gemini Live | Whatever you paste into the prompt | Voice | Only what you ask for; not consistent between sessions |

How we chose these AI mock interview tools
We compared published features, free tiers and prices on each vendor's own pricing, FAQ and help pages in October 2026. We did not survey users, and we don't repeat vendors' own user counts or ratings. To make the list, a tool had to run a mock interview itself, meaning it asks the questions and responds to your answers, rather than only listing questions to read. We judged each on four things:
- Spoken answers: interviews are spoken, so practice should be too.
- Tailoring: can it build questions from a real job description or your background?
- Feedback depth: a score alone is less useful than a score plus what to change and an example of a better answer.
- Round coverage: behavioral only, or coding and system design as well?
Google's free Interview Warmup was retired in April 2026, so it is not on this list. Our Interview Warmup alternative page explains what to use instead.
The 9 best AI mock interview tools, reviewed
1. CoPilot Interview Mock Interview: best for tailored, scored spoken mocks
CoPilot Interview is a desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+. In Mock Interview mode you paste your résumé and the job description, then pick the level, how many questions (3, 5 or 8), the mix (behavioral, technical, system design, coding), your coding language and an optional focus. The AI reads each question aloud and listens to your spoken answer. Each answer gets a score out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer, and a report card closes the session. Coding questions never auto-submit, so you can think in silence before you answer.
Without installing anything, the browser AI mock interview offers 113 real questions across 9 tracks: behavioral, system design, coding, data science and ML, frontend, DevOps, SQL, product and security.
- Strengths: questions name your real projects and the posting's stack; every round type in one session; a model answer for each question.
- Limits: no video or body-language feedback; free sessions are capped at 15 minutes; no human reviewer.
- Price (as of October 2026): free plan with 15 minutes every day; Standard $14.99 a month (sale; regular $19.99) with 60-minute sessions and up to 100 minutes a day; Pro $29.99 a month. See pricing.
- Fits: anyone preparing for a specific job. Our walkthrough of a mock interview from a job description shows a full session.
2. Huru: best free video mock interviews
Huru says it is free for everyone, with unlimited mock interviews on its free plan as of October 2026. You choose from 242+ career roles, paste a job post, or use the Chrome extension on a listing. Answers can be recorded on video for replay or given audio only, and each is scored out of 100. A conversational interviewer mode asks follow-up questions, with three interviewer personas, an adjustable pressure level and a length of 5 to 20 minutes.
- Strengths: no paywall; video replay; follow-ups that react to what you said.
- Limits: no native Android app (Android users practice through the web app); no human feedback; not built for writing code.
- Fits: non-tech roles, students and anyone who wants unlimited reps. See our Huru review.
3. interviewing.io AI Interviewer: best free technical mock
interviewing.io's FAQ says its AI Interviewer simulates a FAANG-style interview, handles both coding and system design, and is free. You need an account. When you want a person, human mock interviews start at $179, with voice but no video, and the FAQ promises a full refund if you're unhappy.
- Strengths: realistic technical problems at no cost; a clear path to paid human mocks before an onsite.
- Limits: engineering rounds only, so you need another tool for behavioral practice.
- Fits: software engineers. Read our interviewing.io review.
4. Yoodli: best for delivery and follow-up questions
Yoodli runs interview roleplays in the browser: you enter the role and company, choose the interviewer's demeanor, optionally pick questions from your bank, and answer aloud. Its help center says the AI mixes in follow-up questions based on your responses, and with your camera on it comments on body language and centering. As of October 2026, Starter includes 5 sessions in total, Pro is $8 a month billed annually for up to 10 roleplays a week, and Advanced is $20 a month billed annually for unlimited roleplays.
- Strengths: strong on how you come across; realistic follow-ups.
- Limits: 5 free sessions won't carry a full prep cycle; its focus has moved toward company training teams.
- Fits: people whose content is fine but whose delivery isn't. See our Yoodli review.
5. Big Interview PracticeAI: best phone-screen simulation
Big Interview's Interview Simulator uses PracticeAI to personalize questions from your résumé or a job description, in a voice-only format that its site compares to a real phone screen. It listens to your answers and gives a report on delivery and answer quality, drawing on 10,000+ questions. VideoAI is a separate feature for recorded video answers. As of October 2026, plans cost $39 for 30 days, $99 for 3 months or $299 for lifetime access, with a 30-day money-back guarantee and no free plan.
- Strengths: realistic phone-screen practice; lessons that teach answer structure.
- Limits: no free tier; little for hands-on coding.
- Fits: new grads and career changers, especially if a school or workforce program already licenses it. See our Big Interview review.
6. Aced Expert (formerly Exponent): best AI mocks inside a course library
Exponent is now Aced. As of October 2026, its pricing page puts AI mock interviews, AI interview feedback and an AI coach on the Expert plan, at $99 a month or $20 a month billed annually. The free Basic plan includes 5 peer mocks a month with real people, and Pro ($79 a month, or $12 a month billed annually) adds all courses and unlimited peer mocks, but not the AI mock interviews.
- Strengths: AI mocks next to deep PM, system design and engineering courses; human peer practice included.
- Limits: AI mocks only on the top plan; refunds within 5 days of purchase.
- Fits: PM and senior tech candidates with several weeks to prepare. See our Exponent (Aced) review and our Pramp comparison for its peer mocks.
7. Final Round AI Practice Interview: best range of mock formats
Final Round AI's Practice Interview offers eight scenarios: general, coding, system design, behavioral, product case, data and ML, salary negotiation and recruiter screen. You answer out loud, questions are tied to your target role and résumé, and every session ends with an automatic debrief. As of October 2026, its page says starting a practice session requires an active plan; Pro is listed from $25 a month, with the lowest rate on longer billing. It runs as a desktop app on macOS 14.4+ and Windows. The product is mainly sold for live use; follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
- Strengths: the most named formats, including salary negotiation and recruiter screens.
- Limits: no free practice sessions; month-to-month billing costs more than the headline price.
- Fits: candidates who will pay for a broad suite. See our Final Round AI review.
8. ChatGPT Voice: best do-it-yourself mock on any device
As of October 2026, OpenAI's Voice help page says Free users get limited access to ChatGPT Voice, available on web, iOS and Android, and that usage is measured over a rolling 24-hour period. Paste the job description, tell it to ask one question at a time and wait, and ask for a score against a simple rubric after each answer.
- Strengths: free, flexible, and good at generating role-specific questions.
- Limits: you design the interview and the rubric; feedback varies between sessions; a voice session can end when you hit the limit.
- Fits: zero-budget practice. Copy a script from our ChatGPT mock interview prompts.
9. Gemini Live: best do-it-yourself mock on your phone
Google's Gemini plans page lists Gemini Live among the free plan's features as of October 2026, with paid plans offering higher usage limits. Gemini Live runs in the Gemini app on Android and iOS. The setup is the same as with ChatGPT: give it the role, the job description and strict turn-taking rules.
- Strengths: free and conversational; easy to use on a walk or commute.
- Limits: no built-in interview structure or scoring; you track your own progress.
- Fits: extra spoken reps between sessions in a dedicated tool.
Which AI mock interview tool should you pick?
- You have a specific job and want feedback on every answer: CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview with the real posting. Pair it with the free STAR story builder before behavioral rounds.
- You want unlimited practice and pay nothing: Huru, plus ChatGPT Voice or Gemini Live for variety.
- You're preparing for coding and system design: interviewing.io's AI Interviewer, then CoPilot Interview's coding and system design questions to say your reasoning out loud. Our system design interview practice page covers that round.
- Your problem is delivery, not content: Yoodli, or Huru's video replay.
- Your first round is a phone screen: Big Interview PracticeAI if you have access; otherwise any voice-only mock with your camera off.
- You want courses and AI mocks in one subscription: Aced Expert on the annual plan.

How to run an AI mock interview that actually helps
- Feed it the real job description. Tailored questions expose the gaps a generic bank hides.
- Answer out loud and time yourself. Most answers should land in about two minutes.
- Read the model answer, then redo the question. The second attempt is where scores move.
- Keep a list of questions that stumped you and start the next session with them.
- Finish with a person. One peer or coach session before the real interview adds the pressure AI can't. Our guide to practicing without a partner covers the solo routine in between.

What is the best AI mock interview tool?
For spoken practice tailored to a specific job, CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview (which we make) builds questions from your résumé and the job description and scores each answer out of 10. Huru is the best fully free video option, and interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer is the best for coding and system design.
Is there a free AI mock interview tool?
Yes. As of October 2026, Huru offers unlimited free mock interviews for job seekers, CoPilot Interview's free plan includes Mock Interview for 15 minutes every day, interviewing.io's AI Interviewer is free, and Gemini Live and ChatGPT Voice have free plans with usage limits.
Do AI mock interviews give a score?
Most dedicated tools do. CoPilot Interview scores each answer out of 10 with a model answer, Huru scores each answer out of 100, and Big Interview and Final Round AI give a report or debrief. General assistants like ChatGPT only score if you ask them to, and the scoring is not consistent between sessions.
Can an AI mock interview ask follow-up questions?
Some can. Yoodli's help center says its AI mixes in follow-up questions based on your responses, and Huru's conversational mode asks follow-ups and adapts. CoPilot Interview shows the follow-up a real interviewer would likely ask after each answer.
Are AI mock interviews good for coding interviews?
Yes, if the tool supports code. interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer runs coding and system design interviews, and CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview can include coding questions in your chosen language with a code box. Video-first tools such as Huru and Yoodli focus on spoken answers.
Is Google Interview Warmup still available?
No. Google Interview Warmup was retired in April 2026. Free replacements include Huru, the free plan of CoPilot Interview, and Gemini Live, which Google lists in its free Gemini plan.
