What LeetCode Wizard is, and why people look for a LeetCode Wizard alternative

LeetCode Wizard is a desktop app for Windows and macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon builds) that reads a coding problem and returns candidate approaches sorted by time complexity, with code, tests and a complexity analysis. As of October 2026, its pricing page lists one Pro plan at €49 a month, billed monthly, and a free trial with no card that accepts input only from LeetCode.com. Its site states it is not affiliated with LeetCode. Our LeetCode Wizard review covers the product in more detail.

The reasons people look for something else are practical:

For a head-to-head, see CoPilot Interview vs LeetCode Wizard. The rest of this page is about getting good enough that you don't need an answer generator in the room.

The 8 best LeetCode Wizard alternatives for coding interview prep

1. CoPilot Interview: best for spoken coding mock interviews

Solving a problem silently and explaining it out loud under time pressure are different skills. CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview mode trains the second one. It's a desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+.

Strengths:

Limits: it isn't a problem bank or a judge, so pair it with LeetCode or NeetCode. There's no human interviewer, and AI model answers can be wrong, so check them. The app also has a Candidate Mode for live help in interviews. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan. CoPilot Interview isn't affiliated with Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot or LeetCode.

2. NeetCode: best free study path

NeetCode organizes LeetCode problems into ordered lists (Blind 75, NeetCode 150 and NeetCode 250), each with a free video explanation. As of October 2026, its Pro page lists One-Year Access at $119 and Lifetime at $297, with 200+ course videos, 300+ practice problems with a built-in editor, solutions in 8 languages, AI hints and company-tagged problems for 100+ companies.

Strengths: the free lists alone are enough for most candidates, and the order saves you from deciding what to solve next.

Limits: no month-to-month option, and videos don't replace solving under time pressure. Start with our NeetCode 150 roadmap, or read is NeetCode Pro worth it.

3. LeetCode: best problem bank and company tags

LeetCode is where you actually solve, submit and re-solve. Per our LeetCode vs NeetCode guide (checked October 20, 2026), about 3,300 problems are free, and the LeetCode 75 and Top Interview 150 study plans need no Premium. Premium, listed on its subscribe page, costs $35 a month or $159 a year and adds company-tagged questions sorted by frequency, editorials and timed interview simulations.

Strengths: the standard judge interviewers expect you to know, plus company tags for a targeted final month.

Limits: Premium is non-refundable in most cases, per LeetCode's help center. Buy one or two months timed to a real interview; see is LeetCode Premium worth it.

4. AlgoExpert: best curated question set with video

AlgoExpert is a paid course built around 200 coding interview questions, each with a video walkthrough and complexity analysis, according to its site. It sits alongside related courses for system design and frontend.

Strengths: a fixed, well-explained question set if you like one teacher's style end to end.

Limits: we couldn't confirm a current price on its purchase page in October 2026, and we found no free tier. Check the price and access period before you buy.

5. interviewing.io: best for mock interviews with senior engineers

interviewing.io runs anonymous mock interviews with senior, staff and principal engineers, with audio and chat but no video. Its FAQ says interviews start at $179, varying by subject and whether you want an interviewer from a specific company, promises a full refund if you're unhappy, and describes a free AI Interviewer for coding and system design.

Strengths: the closest thing to a real big-tech technical round, with detailed human feedback.

Limits: expensive for volume practice. Use one or two sessions in your final weeks. See our interviewing.io review.

6. Aced Practice (formerly Pramp): best free practice with people

Pramp's peer mock interviews moved to Aced Practice: a banner on pramp.com says that as of July 2024 all new Pramp sessions are hosted on Aced Practice and that it's still free. You and another candidate take turns interviewing each other.

Strengths: free, frequent reps with a real person, which is the best cure for freezing up.

Limits: your partner isn't a trained interviewer, so feedback quality varies. See Pramp vs interviewing.io.

7. A general AI chatbot: best for hints on demand

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini all have free plans that can act as a tutor: ask for a hint instead of the answer, ask why your solution is O(n log n), or paste your code and ask for edge cases you missed. Our ChatGPT mock interview prompts include prompts that keep the bot in tutor mode.

Strengths: free, instant and patient. Good for understanding a solution after you've tried.

Limits: it will hand you the full answer if you let it, it can be confidently wrong, and it doesn't listen to you explain out loud the way an interviewer does.

8. Our free coding tools: best quick review

Two free pages cover what you need the night before: the coding interview cheat sheet (patterns and when to use them) and the Big-O complexity visualizer. Nothing to install and no signup.

Limits: they're reference material, not practice. Use them alongside a problem list.

How to replace LeetCode Wizard with a four-week prep plan

This is a plan we wrote for someone with about an hour a day. Stretch it if you have more time.

  1. Week 1: patterns. Work through the arrays, hashing, two pointers and sliding window sections of NeetCode 150. Watch the video only after a 20-minute honest attempt.
  2. Week 2: trees, graphs and heaps. Keep a mistake log: the problem, what you missed and the pattern it belongs to.
  3. Week 3: talk it through. Run two CoPilot Interview mock interviews with a coding-heavy mix in your interview language. Read the "what to fix" notes and redo your lowest-scoring answer.
  4. Week 4: realism. Do one or two peer mocks on Aced Practice, re-solve everything in your mistake log, and if you can afford it, book one interviewing.io session.
Tip: in every practice problem, say four things out loud before you code: your restatement of the problem, a brute-force approach, the better approach with its complexity, and one edge case. Interviewers grade that reasoning as much as the code.

How we chose these LeetCode Wizard alternatives

We picked tools that build your own skill, because that's what holds up under follow-up questions and within employer rules. Facts come from each vendor's own pages read in October 2026, or from our dated guides to LeetCode, NeetCode and interviewing.io. We did not run paid tests of every product, and we left out vendor pass rates and user counts because nobody audits them. Where we couldn't confirm a price, we say so.

Is there a free alternative to LeetCode Wizard for coding prep?

Yes. NeetCode’s Blind 75, NeetCode 150 and NeetCode 250 lists come with free video explanations, LeetCode’s free tier has about 3,300 problems, Aced Practice offers free peer mock interviews, interviewing.io has a free AI Interviewer, and CoPilot Interview gives 15 free minutes of Mock Interview every day.

Is LeetCode Premium worth it instead?

Usually only for a month or two before a real interview at a company with a large tagged question list. As of October 2026 it costs $35 a month or $159 a year, and LeetCode says subscriptions are non-refundable in most cases.

Can AI help me prepare for coding interviews without doing the work for me?

Yes. Ask a chatbot for a hint rather than the answer, use it to explain a solution after you have tried, and rehearse explaining your approach out loud in a scored mock interview. The goal is to handle follow-up questions on your own.
