What interviewing.io is, and why people look for an interviewing.io alternative

interviewing.io sells anonymous mock interviews for engineers. Its homepage says interviewers are senior, staff or principal engineers or engineering managers who make hiring decisions at FAANG and FAANG-adjacent companies. Sessions are fully anonymous, with audio and chat but no video. Subjects include algorithms and data structures, coding, system design, machine learning, front-end, engineering management, behavioral, and staff-level and manager interviews.

Its FAQ, as of October 2026, says:

It's a good product, and the reasons people look elsewhere are mostly about fit:

Our interviewing.io review covers the product in depth, and CoPilot Interview vs interviewing.io goes head to head.

The 7 best interviewing.io alternatives, reviewed

1. CoPilot Interview: best for daily AI reps before you pay for a human

CoPilot Interview is a desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+. Its Mock Interview mode builds the session from your résumé and the job description; you choose the level, 3, 5 or 8 questions, the mix (behavioral, technical, system design, coding), your coding language and an optional focus. It reads each question aloud, you answer out loud, and each answer gets a score out of 10 with what worked, what to fix and a model answer, then a report card.

Strengths:

Limits: it can't give you a senior engineer's judgment on whether you'd pass at their company, and there's no human feedback at all. AI answers can be wrong, so practice in your own words. The browser AI mock interview needs no install. CoPilot Interview also has a live Candidate Mode for real calls. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.

2. Aced Practice (formerly Pramp): best free practice with a person

Pramp didn't disappear; it moved. A banner on pramp.com says that as of July 2024, "all new Pramp sessions are hosted on Aced Practice." Aced is the new name of Exponent. Its practice page says you're matched with a peer by schedule, role, level and interview history, each of you interviews for about 30 minutes, and you trade rubric-based feedback afterwards.

Strengths: free, with monthly credits for free users; tracks for data structures and algorithms, system design, behavioral, product management, finance, and SQL, data science and frontend in beta. Interviewing the other person teaches you fast what a clear answer sounds like.

Limits: your partner is another candidate, so feedback quality varies, and AI feedback and transcripts need a paid membership. See Pramp vs interviewing.io.

3. IGotAnOffer: best human alternative with a wider role list

IGotAnOffer is a coach marketplace covering software engineering, engineering management, data science and machine learning, product management, consulting and banking. Its coaching page says a credit costs about $50 and coaches charge 2 to 5 credits per one-hour session: a 45-minute mock interview and 15 minutes of feedback.

Strengths: you see each coach's roles and pick by company; video sessions; a refund if you're unhappy with your first session with a coach and ask within 24 hours (one session per client); unused credits refundable within 30 days.

Limits: not anonymous, and at $100 to $250 an hour the top coaches cost more than interviewing.io's starting price. Credits expire after 12 months.

4. Aced coaching: best if you also want courses

Aced (formerly Exponent) sells 1:1 coaching with coaches it describes as vetted product managers, engineers and industry experts. Sessions are 60 minutes, and its coaching page says unused sessions don't expire and can be refunded within six months of purchase, minus any multi-session discount. Prices are shown per coach when you book.

Strengths: the same company sells courses (Pro, $79/mo or $12/mo billed annually, per its pricing page), so you can learn and book an expert in one place. Covers PM, which interviewing.io doesn't.

Limits: coaching doesn't include a membership, and cancelling or rescheduling inside 24 hours counts the session as used. Compare in Exponent vs interviewing.io.

5. Hello Interview: best AI system design mock

Hello Interview used to sell human mock interviews, but it ended its mock interview and mentorship programs on May 31, 2026. It now sells Premium content plus Live Practice: a full system design interview with an AI interviewer that ends with a hire or no-hire decision for your target level and a written report. Its pricing page lists $47 for a month (1 Live Practice interview), $89 for a year (2) and $299 lifetime (4), as of October 2026.

Limits: a handful of AI interviews per plan and no human interviewer.

6. Huru: best free behavioral practice

Huru is free for job seekers, with unlimited mock interviews, a live AI interviewer that asks follow-up questions, video or audio-only answers, and a score out of 100 per answer. It fills the behavioral gap interviewing.io leaves for engineers who mainly need technical help.

Limits: no code editor described on its site, and no Android app. See our Huru review.

7. ByteByteGo: best study material between mocks

ByteByteGo isn't a mock interview service. It sells illustrated, text-based courses on system design, coding interview patterns, object-oriented design and ML system design. Its pricing page showed one year for $189 (regular $399) or lifetime for $499 (regular $999) in October 2026, and its FAQ says courses aren't refundable. Use it to close the gaps an expert mock exposes.

Is there a cheaper way to practice with a real engineer?

Yes, if you split the job: do volume with free tools and pay for expert time only at the end. Here's what four weeks costs on each route, by our arithmetic from the prices above.

Four-week planWhat you doCost (as of Oct 2026)
CoPilot Interview free + 1 interviewing.io mockBest choice for budget: daily AI reps, then one expert session in the final week$179
Aced Practice + 1 interviewing.io mock5 free peer mocks, then one expert session$179
CoPilot Interview Standard + 1 IGotAnOffer session60-minute AI sessions, then a 2-credit coachAbout $115
3 interviewing.io mocksExpert sessions only$537

Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview. IGotAnOffer costs depend on the coach; a 5-credit coach would make that row about $265. Our AI interview assistant vs human coach comparison goes deeper on when a person is worth paying for.

Tip: try interviewing.io's own free AI Interviewer too. It's the cheapest way to see its coding and system design format before you decide whether a paid session is worth it.

How we chose these interviewing.io alternatives

We compared what each vendor publishes on its own pricing pages, homepages and FAQs, checked in October 2026. We didn't run paid hands-on tests, and we left out user counts, ratings and outcome claims because they aren't independently audited. We included both AI and human options because interviewing.io offers both, and we left out tools whose main pitch is help during live calls rather than practice.

Can an AI mock interview replace interviewing.io?

Not fully. An AI mock gives you cheap daily reps and a score with a model answer, but it can't tell you how a senior engineer at your target company would level you. Most engineers do the volume with AI or peers and book one or two expert sessions before the onsite.
