For Amazon interns
Amazon Internship Interview Prep — AI for SDE Intern & Leadership Principles
Free real-time AI for Amazon internship interviews. Built for Amazon's unique format: every coding round includes 10-15 minutes of Leadership Principle behavioral questions, plus a Bar Raiser with veto power. Permanent free tier, works on Amazon Chime.
Amazon's internship programs
SDE Intern (Software Development Engineer)
Most common engineering internship. Online assessment + 1-2 phone screens + virtual onsite (typically 3 rounds). Each round is half-coding, half-Leadership-Principles. The Bar Raiser model applies: one round has a senior engineer from another team with veto power.
PM Intern (Product Manager)
Less coding-heavy. Heavy on customer obsession, dive deep, and bias for action. Product case rounds plus behavioral. Customer Obsession is the LP that appears most.
Other intern programs
AWS Intern (more infrastructure-focused), Operations Intern (ops/supply chain), Finance Intern, UX Intern. Each has program-specific filters but Leadership Principles run through all of them.
The 16 Leadership Principles (memorize these)
Every round at Amazon includes at least 10-15 minutes of Leadership Principle questions before or after the coding problem. The most-asked LPs in technical rounds: Customer Obsession, Ownership, Dive Deep, Bias for Action, Are Right A Lot. Have one specific story prepared for each. Generic "I'm passionate about" answers fail at Amazon — interviewers want concrete numbers and outcomes. See our full Amazon behavioral interview guide for the 16 LPs mapped to stories.
How CoPilot Interview helps
During your Amazon Chime interview, the desktop overlay surfaces STAR+ framework prompts during behavioral, Leadership Principle reminders when an answer doesn't naturally hit one, and pattern-recognition prompts during the coding portion. Amazon's coding bar is roughly 70% LeetCode-medium difficulty. The free Llama and Qwen models respond in 3-5 seconds and handle most intern-level questions. For senior intern levels or final-round Bar Raiser questions, the Standard tier ($8.99/mo) adds reasoning depth.
2-3 week prep plan
- Week 1: LeetCode patterns — pattern recognition for the coding bar. Plus drill Amazon's most-asked problems: number of islands, LRU cache, merge intervals, trapping rain water, word ladder.
- Week 2: Write one STAR+ story per Leadership Principle. Focus on the 6 LPs that show up most: Customer Obsession, Ownership, Dive Deep, Bias for Action, Are Right A Lot, Invent and Simplify.
- Week 3: Practice 50/50 timing — 25 minutes coding plus 15 minutes behavioral in each mock round. Amazon's split is unique among FAANG.
