How to Delete Your AI Interview Assistant Data: Transcripts, Resume, Account

Deleting your CoPilot Interview data is mostly a file delete, because the only copy of a session transcript is the text file saved in your Documents folder. Audio is never stored on our servers, so there is no recording to delete.

Deleting your CoPilot Interview data is mostly a file delete, because the only copy of a session transcript is the text file saved in your Documents folder. Audio is never stored on our servers, so there is no recording to delete. Your pasted resume and job description can be cleared in the app, and account deletion is a short email to support@copilotinterview.com from the address you sign in with. The one piece we cannot delete for you is whatever the AI model provider keeps under its own terms. Here are the steps in order, and what each one does and does not remove.

What data exists, and where

There are only a few places your data can be, so start with the map.

DataWhere it livesHow to delete it
Session transcripts (text)Your Documents folder, on the computer you used.Delete the files, then empty the Recycle Bin or Trash.
Audio from the interviewStreamed in short segments for transcription; not stored on our servers.Nothing to delete.
Pasted resume and job descriptionIn the app as the context sent with each question.Clear the pasted text in the app.
Account (paid plans only)Your email address and plan, so the plan follows you across devices.Email support@copilotinterview.com.
Text sent to the AI modelWith the provider of the model you picked, under its terms.See that provider's terms; we cannot delete it for you.

Step 1: delete transcripts from your Documents folder

Open your Documents folder and look for the transcript text files CoPilot Interview saved there. Transcripts are plain files on your disk, so deleting them is the same as deleting any other document: select, delete, then empty the Recycle Bin on Windows or the Trash on macOS so they are not recoverable with one click.

Two things people forget. If your Documents folder syncs to OneDrive, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or a similar service, the deleted file may sit in that service's own trash for a while; empty it there too. And if you ran sessions on more than one computer, each one has its own Documents folder and its own transcripts.

Step 2: clear the pasted resume and job description

The resume and job description you paste are the context sent as text with each question to the AI model you chose, so the app keeps them for the session. To remove them, clear the pasted text in the app and replace it with nothing, or with the next job's details. Our page on resume storage explains what pasted context is used for and why we recommend pasting only what the interview needs.

Step 3: delete your account, if you have one

An account exists only on paid plans, so that your plan follows you across devices; the free plan has no account to delete. Sign-in is an email link with no password, so the account is tied to your email address. To delete it, email support@copilotinterview.com from that address and ask for account deletion. Cancel the subscription first, or say so in the email, so nothing renews in the meantime; you can review your plan at /account. If you cannot get into the account to check, our sign-in troubleshooting page covers the email link.

If you simply want the app gone, uninstall it the normal way: through Settings or the Microsoft Store on Windows, or by moving it to the Trash on macOS. Uninstalling does not delete the transcripts in Documents, which is why Step 1 comes first.

What the AI model provider may keep

The transcribed question and your pasted context go, as text, to the model you picked: Mercury 2.5 by Inception on the free plan, GPT-6 Luna from OpenAI on Pro, and Claude Haiku 5.5 from Anthropic or Gemini 3 Flash from Google on Pro+. Each provider processes that text under its own terms, which set how long it is retained and whether it is used for anything else. We do not control those systems and cannot delete data held there on your behalf, so see the provider's terms for the model you used. For anything about our own handling not covered here, see the privacy policy. This page is a practical guide, not legal advice. See also our privacy overview.

Where CoPilot Interview fits

CoPilot Interview is an AI interview assistant designed so that deletion is simple: no stored audio, one transcript file per session in a folder you control, and no account unless you pay. We recommend running it on a personal device rather than a work machine, and following your employer's rules about what may be installed or stored on company equipment; follow your employer's rules first and delete second. Disclosure: CoPilot Interview is our product, so weigh what we say about it accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my CoPilot Interview account?

Email support@copilotinterview.com from the address you sign in with and ask for account deletion, after cancelling any active subscription. Accounts exist only on paid plans; the free plan has no account. Sign-in is an email link, so there is no password to remove.

Does CoPilot Interview store recordings of my interviews?

No. Audio is streamed in short segments for transcription and is not stored on our servers. The only saved artifact is a text transcript in your Documents folder on the computer you used, which you can delete like any other file.

Does uninstalling the app delete my transcripts?

No. Transcripts are ordinary text files in your Documents folder and stay there after an uninstall. Delete them yourself, empty the Recycle Bin or Trash, and check any cloud sync service's trash if Documents is synced.

Can you delete what was sent to OpenAI, Anthropic or Google?

No. The transcribed text and your pasted context go to the provider of the model you picked and are handled under that provider's terms. We cannot delete data from their systems on your behalf; check their terms for retention and deletion requests. This is not legal advice.

Try it without an account

The free plan needs no card and no account, so there is nothing to delete later but a file.
