How Does Verve AI Work? From Setup to Report

What happens before, during and after a Verve AI session: profiles, domains, how it hears the call, what the report scores and how many sessions each plan gives you, checked on vervecopilot.com in October 2026.

How does Verve AI work? You build an interview profile with your résumé, role and company, pick an interview domain, share the interview audio with Verve AI's browser or desktop app, and it transcribes the call and suggests answers as questions come in; afterwards it produces a report that scores your answers for relevance, accuracy and clarity. As of October 2026, the free plan includes three 15-minute copilot sessions a month, and paid plans start at $44.99 a month (or $16.99 a month billed annually).

Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview, which competes with Verve AI. The Verve facts below come from its own site at vervecopilot.com, its help center's quick-start guide, its pricing page and its refund policy, all checked on October 20, 2026. Our Verve AI review covers whether it's worth paying for; this page explains how a session actually runs.

How does Verve AI work, step by step

Verve's help center describes a five-step quick start, followed by the live session and the report:

  1. Open the browser app or the desktop app. The browser app runs in Chrome, Edge or Opera with nothing to install. The desktop app runs on Windows and macOS, and Verve's docs recommend it because some features work only there.
  2. Choose an interview domain. The launch pad groups domains into Core (General, Coding, Phone), Technical (such as Software Engineering, Data Science and Analytics, and Cloud and Infrastructure), Specialized, and Work (Product Management and professional meetings). The domain shapes how answers are written.
  3. Select an interview profile. Use a sample profile, one you saved, or click + New to upload your résumé and set your role, seniority and the company.
  4. Configure the session. Set the language, grant audio permission, choose an AI model and decide whether the Knowledge Base is off, fully on or limited to one folder. The same screen shows your session time limit and how many sessions you have left.
  5. Share the interview audio. In the browser, click Verve's sharing button, pick the tab, window or screen that holds your meeting, and turn on "Share tab audio" or "Share audio". In the desktop app, click Share Audio; the docs say this works with the Zoom, Teams and Google Meet desktop apps. You can add your own microphone too, which Verve says some report scores need.
  6. Get suggestions during the call. The copilot listens and shows suggested responses as questions come up. In Manual Mode, responses appear only when you trigger them, and a pause-interval setting controls how long it waits before responding. You can also type a question into the Chatbot tab.
  7. Review the report. After the session, Verve generates an interview report, and you can export the transcript or share the session through a link.

What goes into Verve AI's answers

Verve tailors each suggestion from several inputs you control before the call:

A Playground lets you test responses against your profile before a real interview.

Verve AI plans and session limits

How many sessions you get, and how long each lasts, depends on the plan (prices from Verve's pricing page as of October 2026):

An Enterprise plan for hiring teams starts at $10 a session. The refund policy is conditional: you ask while the subscription is active or within 5 business days after it ends, and you qualify for a verifiable technical issue on Verve's side or if you didn't use the service. It also says, "Yearly subscriptions are a commitment for the full year." Requests go to support@vervecopilot.com. What the Verve AI interview report shows

The report is the part of Verve that keeps working after the call. Its report page lists:

Verve says the report needs the session to be running while the interview happens, so you start it before the call begins. Because the three scores stay the same from round to round, the report is most useful after several interviews, when a pattern becomes visible.

Limits and who Verve AI suits

Verve AI suits you if you can't install software (the browser app), interview in a language other than English, or want scored reports you can compare across rounds. It's a weaker fit if you interview occasionally and want free practice every day, or if you don't want to commit to a quarter or a year to get a lower price.

Whatever tool you use, follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
