A Glider AI interview is usually an autonomous video interview on Glider AI's hiring platform: the AI asks role-specific questions generated from the job's requirements, follows up on your answers and scores them against a structured rubric for the hiring team. Depending on the employer, Glider may instead send a one-way video interview, an AI phone screen, a skills assessment or a live coding interview, often with ID verification, AI proctoring and the Glider Safe Browser. Glider AI's homepage also announces that Findem has acquired it, a deal first announced on March 19, 2026. Every Glider fact below comes from glider.ai and Glider's own help center, checked in October 2026.
Take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules — use CoPilot Interview to practice beforehand. Glider's sessions verify identity and watch for outside help, and some lock your computer to the interview window until you finish.
How the Glider AI interview works
- The employer builds the interview. Glider says its AI analyzes the job requirements and generates vetted, role-specific questions. Recruiters can also upload a job description to generate them.
- You get an invitation. The email carries your link and, when required, a download link for the Glider Safe Browser. Glider's help center says invite links expire, after 3 days by default, though employers can set a different period.
- You set up and verify. Allow camera and microphone access and complete any identity checks. Glider says its AI video interviews include ID verification and AI proctoring.
- The AI interviews you. Glider's AI video interview page says the AI asks context-aware questions and natural follow-ups, can share insights about the role and company, and supports interviews in candidates' preferred languages. Its FAQ says candidates can complete these interviews anytime, anywhere.
- The AI scores you. Responses are evaluated against a structured rubric, and the hiring team gets scored reports along with recordings and searchable transcripts.

Glider interview formats you might get
| Format | What Glider says (as of October 2026) | Who's on the other side |
|---|---|---|
| AI video interview | Autonomous and available 24/7, with adaptive questions, structured scoring, ID verification and proctoring | The AI; the hiring team reviews the report |
| One-way video interview | On demand: you record responses whenever suits you | Nobody live; reviewers watch later |
| AI Voice Recruiter | A phone screen that calls you right away or at a scheduled time, assesses skills, fit and language, then scores and transcribes the call | The AI by phone; top matches are scheduled for next steps |
| Live coding interview | Real-world tasks in a cloud IDE that supports more than 70 programming languages | A human interviewer, who may get AI prompts and scoring from Glider's AI Interview Helper |
| Skills assessment | Technical, competency and behavioral tests, plus coding simulations | A test, sometimes with an employer-enabled AI Assistant |
If the invite is a recorded format, our guide to what a one-way video interview is explains the recorded format in general; for automated calls, see our AI recruiter phone screen guide.
Setup: the Glider Safe Browser and identity checks
Glider's general system requirements are a stable connection, Chrome 77 or later or Firefox 69 or later, and Windows 8 or later, Ubuntu or a Mac. If your invitation includes the Glider Safe Browser, its Windows installation guide adds stricter rules:
- System: Windows 10 or 11, at least 400 MB of free disk space, Administrator privileges and a regular (not Guest) account.
- Before launch: Windows fully updated with nothing pending, antivirus allowing the app, and no firewall or network policy blocking Glider.
- Installer: download the installer from your invitation email or the link provided, then open your interview link, which launches in the Safe Browser.
- On launch: it closes open browsers and restricted applications, or asks you to end them in Task Manager. Until the session ends, you can't switch apps or navigate away.
- Displays: a connected second display or mirroring device can stop the session from starting, and connecting one mid-session may end it.
On a Mac, Glider's help center says to allow camera and microphone access for your browser in the Privacy section of System Preferences (System Settings on newer macOS), and to allow Screen Recording for the browser if the assessment asks for it, then refresh your link.
In live interviews, Glider's proctoring checks can compare your face with photos from earlier Glider assessments, ask you to scan a QR code and record a short phrase for voice verification, and compare random audio samples during the interview with that recording. The interviewer is also alerted if an external monitor or dual screen is in use.
Glider's AI Assistant: the only AI help that belongs in the session
Glider sells an AI Assistant that employers can switch on inside technical assessments and live coding interviews. When it's enabled, you can ask clarifying questions, get code suggestions and debugging feedback, and see notes on security, performance and edge cases, all inside Glider's controlled environment. Glider says it supports "without spoon-feeding," acting like a peer reviewer that offers nudges rather than solutions, and that every interaction is captured for the hiring team: how you prompt it, whether you apply its feedback and whether your solution improves.
So if the employer provides it, use it the way you'd use AI on the job, with clear prompts and your own judgment. If the session doesn't include it, bring no outside tools. Glider also lists an AI Candidate Assistant that helps candidates clarify questions in real time.
Who uses Glider AI
Glider lists enterprises, staffing firms, systems integrators and IT services companies, high-growth companies, high-volume hiring and contingent workforce programs among the hiring use cases it serves, with industry pages for airlines and aviation and for banking, financial services and insurance. Staffing firms use it to prequalify candidates and show clients proof of skills, so you may meet Glider through an agency rather than the employer itself.
- Expired link: Glider's help center says candidates can request an extension and recruiters can extend an invite, so contact the recruiter quickly if yours lapses.
- Accommodations: Glider lists special accommodations (ADA) as a use case. If you need one, ask the recruiter before you start.
- Results: scored reports go to the hiring team, so next steps come from the employer or agency that invited you.
How to prepare for a Glider AI interview
| Day | Focus | What you should have at the end |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Setup: confirm Administrator rights, install the Safe Browser if your invite needs it, unplug extra displays, test camera and microphone | A computer that launches the session cleanly |
| 2 | Map the job requirements to your experience, since Glider builds questions from them | Five stories plus one real task you can walk through step by step |
| 3 | A scored mock with spoken answers, and coding if the role needs it, then rest | Scores per answer and a short list of fixes |
For day 3, CoPilot Interview's desktop Mock Interview builds the interview from your résumé and the job description. You choose the level, 3, 5 or 8 questions, the mix of behavioral, technical, system design and coding, and your coding language. It reads each question aloud, scores your spoken answer out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer, and ends with a report card; coding questions never auto-submit, so you can think in silence. The free plan includes 15 minutes every day. The browser AI mock interview offers 113 real questions across 9 tracks with nothing to install, and for technical roles the free coding interview cheat sheet and Big-O complexity visualizer help you explain trade-offs out loud.
Our guide to how to pass an AI interview covers scoring and setup across vendors, and our Talview AI interview guide covers another platform that pairs AI interviews with proctoring.
Practice before the Safe Browser opens
CoPilot Interview's Mock Interview builds questions from your résumé and the job description, reads them aloud and scores each spoken answer out of 10, so your Glider interview isn't your first attempt. The free plan includes 15 minutes every day.
