Cluely vs Verve AI is a generalist against a specialist. Cluely is an AI meeting assistant for every kind of call: it takes notes and answers when you press Cmd/Ctrl + Enter, with a free Starter plan and Pro at $19.99/mo. Verve AI is built for interviews: it reads your résumé and the job description, detects questions automatically, runs AI mock interviews and scores your sessions. Its free plan includes three 15-minute copilot sessions a month, and paid plans run from $16.99/mo billed annually to $84.99/mo month to month. Those are the list prices on October 14, 2026.
Below: plan-by-plan pricing, what three example schedules cost, the features that separate the two, platforms, refund terms and who each fits. Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview, which appears as a third column where it's relevant.

The pricing page doesn't state trial, refund or cancellation terms, so read Cluely's terms of service before you pay.
Verve AI
Verve AI's pricing page has three billing periods, and the number of sessions changes with them:
| Plan | Monthly | Quarterly | Billed annually | Copilot sessions | Also included |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | 3 a month, 15 min each | 5 AI mock interviews, 5 interview reports, 14 AI tools |

Verve also lists an Enterprise option for hiring teams, pay as you go from $10 a session. Its refund policy, last updated June 16, 2024, says you may qualify for a refund if a verifiable technical issue on its side stops you using the service, or if you subscribed and didn't use it at all. Requests must be made while your subscription is active or within 5 business days after it ends, and yearly plans are a commitment for the full year.
What three example schedules cost
These are examples we built from the list prices above, before discounts and taxes. Verve's quarterly and annual prices and Cluely's annual price are shown per month, so we multiplied them out.
| Example schedule | CoPilot Interview | Cluely | Verve AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| One month, three interviews | Best choice: $14.99 (Standard, 60-min sessions) | $19.99 (Pro) | $44.99 (Standard monthly, 5 sessions of 60 min) |
| Three months of interviewing | Best choice: $44.97 (Standard for 3 months) | $59.97 (Pro for 3 months) | $119.97 (Standard quarterly, 15 sessions) |
| A year of on-and-off interviews | Best choice: $99.99 (Standard annual) | $143.88 (Pro at $11.99 a month, billed annually) | $203.88 (Standard at $16.99 a month, billed annually) |
Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview.
If you want Verve AI with no cap on sessions, the Pro plan raises those figures to $84.99 for one month, $179.97 for a quarter or $419.88 for a year. Cluely's Pro has no session cap at any billing period. For the wider market, see how much an AI interview assistant costs.
Live features: on-request help vs automatic detection
Cluely listens to the conversation and stays in the background until you ask. Press Cmd/Ctrl + Enter and it answers, with shortcuts for "What should I say?", follow-up questions and a recap; you can also ask about your screen or the conversation so far. It doesn't join your call as a bot, so no extra participant appears. It names Zoom, Slack, Webex, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, and transcribes 12+ languages.
Verve AI starts before the call: you upload your résumé, the job description and the company's values. During the interview it detects questions automatically and suggests responses, with live on-screen help for LeetCode-style coding problems, a screen capture tool, a chatbot for direct questions and session sharing to follow along on another device. Live transcription covers 55+ languages, and custom prompts let you shape its behavior. Pro adds 20 specialized interview domains, from coding and system design to finance, consulting and cybersecurity.
The practical difference: Cluely makes you decide when to ask, which keeps the screen quiet but leaves you to steer a general assistant toward an interview-shaped answer. Verve does that steering with interview context, at the cost of plans built around session counts and lengths. Our comparison of AI interview assistants and meeting note-takers explains why that distinction matters in a live round.
Practice and feedback
This is where the two differ most. Verve AI includes AI mock interviews (5 on the free plan, unlimited on Standard and Pro) drawn from question banks of top companies, plus a report after each session with the full transcript and scores for relevance, accuracy and clarity. Its 14 AI tools include a résumé builder, a cover letter builder and an ATS checker.
Cluely's site doesn't list mock interviews or answer scoring. What you get afterwards is a meeting record: notes, a recap and the ability to ask about past meetings. That helps with follow-up emails, but it won't tell you that your answers ran long or skipped the result. If scored rehearsal is what you need, our list of free mock interview websites covers other options.
Verve also markets named copilots for online assessments and one-way video interviews. Those formats measure your own skills: take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules — use CoPilot Interview to practice beforehand.
Platforms and requirements
Cluely's download page lists macOS 10.15 or later on Apple Silicon or Intel and Windows 11 on an x64 processor, with 8 GB of RAM recommended and 500 MB of disk space. Windows 10 isn't on the list. There is also an iPhone app for meeting notes and answers.
Verve AI runs in a browser as well as in desktop apps for macOS and Windows and on iPhone. Some features are marked desktop app only, so the browser version isn't identical. Still, the browser option is the main reason to pick Verve if you can't install software on the computer you'll interview from.
Who each one fits
Cluely fits if
- You take calls all week, from sales and team meetings to classes, and want one assistant with notes for all of them.
- You prefer asking for help when you want it rather than seeing automatic suggestions.
- You want unlimited use at a low monthly price and you're on macOS or Windows 11.
Verve AI fits if
- You want interview context (résumé, job description, company values) built in.
- Scored mock interviews and post-session reports matter to you.
- You need a browser option, or you interview in one of its 55+ transcription languages.
- You want to test live help on a free plan before paying.
Where CoPilot Interview fits
CoPilot Interview is interview-only, like Verve AI, at a price closer to Cluely's. It's a desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+, and its Free plan gives you 15 minutes every day with no card or signup. Mock Interview builds questions from your résumé and a job description, reads them aloud, and scores each spoken answer out of 10 with what to fix and a model answer, then gives you a report card. Dual AI Mode shows two models' answers side by side.

Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview.
Where Verve is ahead, we'll say so: it runs in a browser and lists slightly more transcription languages. In a live session CoPilot Interview captions the interviewer's question and shows a structured answer in about 2 seconds. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
