The CoPilot Interview desktop app runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on macOS 12 or later, and there is no iPad version, so on an iPad you prepare rather than get live help: the browser demo with 145 real interview questions works in Safari, the iPhone practice app via TestFlight works if you also have an iPhone, and for the interview itself you borrow or use a laptop. This page sets out what works on an iPad, what does not and why, and the setup that gets you the most practice from the device you have.
What works on an iPad
| What you want | On an iPad | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Practice real interview questions aloud | Yes, the browser demo at /try in Safari | 145 questions across 10 tracks, structured answers to compare with yours, no signup |
| A scored mock interview from your résumé | Not on the iPad itself; on an iPhone via TestFlight, or on a laptop | The iPhone practice app is practice-first; see the iPhone guide |
| Live help during a video call | No | Needs the desktop app's system-audio capture, which iPadOS does not allow |
| Reading guides and question banks | Yes | Everything on the site |
| Taking the interview call | Yes, Zoom, Teams and Meet all run on iPad | Camera position and stability matter |
Why there is no live mode on iPadOS
The live assistant works by capturing the audio your computer plays, the interviewer's voice, together with your microphone, and that system-level audio capture is something desktop operating systems allow and iPadOS does not permit to a third-party app running alongside a video call. The same limitation applies on Chromebooks, covered in AI interview help on a Chromebook, and the full platform list is in system requirements for AI interview assistants. We would rather say this plainly than let you discover it ten minutes before an interview.
Getting the most practice from an iPad
- Open the browser demo in Safari, prop the iPad at eye level, and answer questions aloud as if on camera; record yourself with the camera app and watch one answer back.
- If you have an iPhone, install the practice app through TestFlight for scored mock interviews built from your résumé and the job description.
- Use the iPad for research and for reading the question bank for your role; the role pages on this site are built for that.
- If you want the full mock interview or live help, borrow a Windows or macOS laptop for an evening; the free plan needs no card.
- For the interview itself, if the iPad is your only camera device, stabilise it, use wired or good wireless earphones, and test the meeting app the day before.
If a laptop is available for the interview
Install the desktop app on it, run the free mock interview once to confirm the microphone and system audio work, and decide in advance whether live help is appropriate for the interview and the employer. Many candidates who practise on an iPad for a week find the live mode unnecessary by the time they sit down at the laptop. The no-signup free options are summarised in free AI interview assistant with no signup.
Where CoPilot Interview fits
CoPilot Interview is an AI interview assistant whose desktop app runs on Windows 10 and 11 and macOS 12 or later, with an iPhone practice app via TestFlight and an Android APK beta, and whose browser demo runs on any device including an iPad. The free plan gives 15 minutes a day of live help in sessions of up to 15 minutes, with AI mock interviews included. On an iPad the honest use is practice; on a laptop in a live interview, follow your employer's rules.
Disclosure: CoPilot Interview is our product, so weigh what we say about it accordingly.
