Revolut Interview Process: Stages, Values and How to Prepare

What Revolut publishes about its hiring steps as of October 2026, how its five values shape the interviews, and how to prepare for the bar raiser.

Revolut's interview process for engineering roles has four published steps: an intro call with a recruiter about your experience and career goals, technical interviews where you solve challenges and tasks, a team fit conversation with potential teammates, and the offer. Every stage is measured against Revolut's five published values, so the strongest preparation pairs your technical or functional skills with specific, measurable results.

That outline comes from Revolut's engineering careers page as of October 2026. Other teams, such as product, credit or operations, add role-specific tasks, and the job posting or your recruiter will tell you which apply. Where this guide relies on what candidates report rather than what Revolut publishes, it says so. For the wider UK context, see our job interview tips for the UK.

Before the intro call, be ready for the two practical questions UK recruiters ask early. Our guides to answering salary expectations in the UK and the notice period interview question cover both.

What are Revolut's values, and how do they show up in interviews?

Revolut says it hires, develops and promotes people based on five values, set out on its culture page. They are unusually direct, and interviewers expect you to have read them.

Read the values as a description of the pace and standards you would be held to. If that culture does not suit you, the interview is the right time to find out.

What is the Revolut bar raiser interview?

Revolut's engineering page does not describe a bar raiser stage, but candidates for several functions commonly report a final interview with that name, often with someone outside the hiring team. Candidates describe it as a walk through their career, role by role, with probing on results, decisions and why they moved on, plus behavioural questions tied to the values.

How to prepare for it:

  1. Build a one-line result for every role. For each job on your CV, know the single biggest outcome, the number behind it, and what you did personally.
  2. Prepare a failure story you own. Pick a real miss, explain your part in it without blaming others, and show what changed afterwards.
  3. Explain every move. Have a short, honest reason for each job change that points forward, not backwards.
  4. Keep answers tight. Two minutes per story, with the result stated clearly at the end.

Ask your recruiter whether your process includes this stage and who will run it. Formats change, and the recruiter's description beats any candidate report.

How do you prepare for Revolut's technical and problem-solving interviews?

For engineering roles, Revolut's careers pages highlight Java development on its core platform and list Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and a test-driven approach for Android. Prepare in the language you will use on the job and practise explaining trade-offs as you code. If your role includes a design round, our system design interview guide gives you a repeatable structure.

For business and product roles, candidates commonly report problem-solving or case-style exercises. Practise a clear structure: restate the problem, list your assumptions, break it into parts, size what matters, recommend and name the risks. Saying your numbers out loud as you go reflects the Think Deeper value in practice.

Tip: Revolut warns about job scams. It says genuine messages come only from an @revolut.com email address and that it will never ask for payment or personal financial information during hiring.

Revolut graduate programme and internships

For its 2027 intake, Revolut's Graduate Programme posting describes a 12-month programme in its engineering teams, with applications open from May 2026, recruitment running July to December 2026 and start dates in March or September 2027. The posting asks for a predicted or achieved 2:1 (or equivalent), graduation in 2025, 2026 or 2027, and a portfolio of coding projects or open-source contributions. Hubs include the UK, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UAE, with around three office days a week, and Revolut offers visa assistance to relocating graduates, with conditions.

Roles fill on a rolling basis, so apply early. If an online test is part of your process, take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules — use CoPilot Interview to practice beforehand. If you would need sponsorship to work in the UK, read our visa sponsorship interview questions guide before the intro call.

Revolut practice questions

These are practice questions we wrote around Revolut's published values. They are not questions reported from Revolut interviews.

Example answer we wrote (to "Describe a time you found the obvious explanation was wrong"): "Card sign-ups dropped 12% in a week and the team assumed a marketing change. I split the funnel by device and saw the drop was entirely on one Android version, at the identity-check step. The camera library had updated and was failing silently. We rolled it back the same day and sign-ups recovered within 48 hours. Since then we alert on step-level drops by device, not just the overall rate."

Revolut's pages we read do not set out an AI policy for interviews, so ask your recruiter. Follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use CoPilot Interview only to practise, which works on the free plan. Its Mock Interview builds questions from your CV and the job description, reads them aloud and scores each spoken answer out of 10 with a model answer. Try the browser AI mock interview with nothing to install, or shape your stories first with our STAR story builder. If you are also talking to other London fintechs, compare with our Monzo interview process guide.
