How does Sensei AI work? Sensei AI is a web app (Chrome recommended): you add the job, your résumé and a few personal stories, try it in a Playground, then connect your interview through a sharing step in the browser so it can hear the interviewer, and it suggests answers in real time, laid out in STAR order in its own demo. As of October 2026, free copilot sessions last 15 minutes each, and Pro costs $89 a month or $24 a month billed annually.
Disclosure: we make CoPilot Interview, which competes with Sensei AI. The Sensei facts below come from its own site at senseicopilot.com (homepage, pricing and FAQ), the interactive product demo linked from that homepage, and its privacy policy, all checked on October 20, 2026. Sensei publishes less detail than most tools in this category, so where something isn't published we say so. Our Sensei AI review covers whether to buy it; this page explains how it runs.
How does Sensei AI work, step by step
Sensei's homepage sums the flow up in four steps: upload your information, try the AI in the Playground, configure settings, then interview. Its interactive demo shows what each step involves:
- Sign in. The web app at app.senseicopilot.com offers Continue with Google, Continue with LinkedIn or an email account.
- Create a job. Enter the industry, company and role you're interviewing for, plus the job description if you have it (it's optional).
- Load your résumé and add stories. Stories are short write-ups of your own experiences, which the copilot can draw on for behavioral answers. Both plans include an AI Story Editor for these.
- Try the Playground. Chat with Sensei AI in a sandbox to see how it answers using the information you just entered.
- Pick the job and interview type. Choose the job you set up and an interview type; the demo says to choose general if none fits.
- Connect the interview. You connect the interview screen through a sharing step in the browser; the demo says that is how audio reaches the copilot.
- Adjust settings and launch. Customize the tone and style of answers, then click Launch Interview.
- Use the suggestions. It listens to the interviewer in real time, detects questions and writes a suggested answer from your information. A Generate button asks it to answer before the interviewer finishes the sentence, and you can select a specific earlier question, change the font size or switch autoscroll off.
- End the interview. Afterwards you can view the transcript.
What Sensei AI uses to write answers
Sensei tailors answers to "your job role, resume, and personal stories", in its homepage's words. The inputs:
- Your materials: the job details, your résumé and your stories.
- Answer settings: tone and style. The homepage also says its AI reads the intent behind each question, listing tone, word choice, keywords, timing, formality and context.
- Industry knowledge bases: add-ons for fields such as finance, consulting, marketing, data science, software engineering and sales.
- Coding Copilot: a mode for technical and coding questions.
The homepage describes a hands-free experience (answers appear without a button press), real-time speech recognition, 30+ languages and a latency claim of under one second. That latency figure, and the success figures on the same page, are the vendor's own and not independently audited. As of October 2026, Sensei doesn't say which AI models it uses or describe a scored report after the interview; the demo ends with a transcript.
Sensei AI plans and features
| Feature (as of October 2026) | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $89 a month, or $24 a month billed annually |
| Copilot sessions | 15 minutes each; start as many as you need, each ends after 15 minutes | Unlimited |
| AI Resume Builder and AI Story Editor | Yes | Yes |
| Full Customization Suite | Yes | Yes |
| Industry Knowledge Base Add-Ons | Yes | Yes |
| Coding Copilot and AI Playground | Yes | Yes |
| Refunds | — | None; cancel any time, access runs to the end of the period |
The free and Pro columns list the same features; the difference is session length and count. Because the free session ends after 15 minutes, it's a fair test of setup and answer quality, but a 45-minute round would mean restarting it twice.
Where Sensei AI works
- Platform: a web app. Its FAQ recommends the latest version of Chrome. As of October 2026, its site doesn't list a desktop app or a phone app.
- Meeting apps: the FAQ names Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Amazon Chime, "and others".
- Industries: the FAQ lists finance, consulting, marketing, data science, software engineering and sales, among others.
- Languages: 30+, per the homepage.
Billing, cancellation and your data
Sensei's terms are short and strict. Its FAQ says: "We do not offer refunds." You can cancel at any time, but charges for the current billing period aren't refunded, and access stays active until the end of the billing cycle. On annual billing, that means paying for the year upfront ($24 × 12 = $288, our arithmetic) with no refund if your search ends early.
On data, its privacy policy says that if you delete your account, your personal information is deleted within 30 days, and that Sensei aims to keep customer data in Canada while using service providers in the US, the European Economic Area or the UK. The contact address on its site is hi@senseicopilot.com. For stopping a plan, see how to cancel Sensei AI, and for the full price picture, our Sensei AI pricing guide.
Limits and who Sensei AI suits
- Browser only. There's no published desktop or phone app, and Chrome is the recommended browser.
- No refunds. Test on the free plan first, because a purchase can't be undone.
- 15-minute free sessions. Enough to judge it, not to run a full mock loop without restarts.
- Little published detail. No model list, no scoring report and no platform matrix beyond the meeting apps named in its FAQ.
Sensei AI suits you if your rounds are mostly behavioral, you like answers built from your own stories in STAR order, and you can't install software. It's a weaker fit if you want refund protection, a scored practice report, or a native app.
Whatever tool you use, follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
