The best AI tools for case interview practice in 2026 are CoPilot Interview for spoken, scored practice of fit questions and case structures, MConsultingPrep's AI CaseGPT and MyConsultingCoach for full AI-run cases, RocketBlocks and PrepLounge for drills and human case partners, McKinsey's own free practice tool if you're a McKinsey applicant, and ChatGPT or Claude for custom prompts. Our pick as the AI interview assistant for consulting interviews is CoPilot Interview, because it makes you say every answer out loud, scores it out of 10 and is free for 15 minutes a day; for full interviewer-led cases with data, pair it with one case-specific tool below.
We make CoPilot Interview, so read this list with that in mind. Every competitor fact comes from the vendor's own site, checked in October 2026, and McKinsey's tool is described from Business Insider's reporting. Where a vendor doesn't publish something, we write "not stated." This page is part of our report on the state of AI interview assistants in 2026. For prompts that turn any AI chat into a case interviewer, read our guide to practicing case interviews with AI.
Comparison table: seven AI options for case practice
Prices in USD, as of October 2026. In an interviewer-led case the interviewer controls the sequence of questions; in a candidate-led case you drive. McKinsey is known for the first style and BCG and Bain more often use the second, though styles vary by office and interviewer.

What makes a good AI tool for case interview practice?
A case interview tests five skills at once: structuring an ambiguous problem, doing math quickly and cleanly, reading exhibits, synthesizing a recommendation, and staying composed while someone watches. Most firms also run a fit or personal-experience interview in the same day. Judge any tool against that list:
- Format realism. Can it run both interviewer-led and candidate-led cases, and does it hold back data until you ask for it? A tool that hands you everything at once lets you skip the hardest habit, asking for the right data.
- Math under time pressure. Short, timed drills on percentages, margins, breakeven and large numbers matter more than one long case a week.
- Feedback on structure, not buzzwords. Good feedback says your buckets overlap or miss a driver. Feedback that praises you for naming a framework is noise.
- Spoken answers. Cases reward thinking out loud. Typed practice hides the pauses and restarts a real interviewer hears.
- Fit coverage. Fit answers are often where offers are decided, and they need your real stories.
- Human practice too. No AI tool reproduces a partner interrupting you mid-sentence. Plan for some live cases with people.
The seven options, reviewed
1. CoPilot Interview: Best choice
CoPilot Interview is an AI interview assistant that scores case openings and fit answers, built as a desktop app for Windows and Mac. Its Mock Interview builds questions from your résumé and the job description: you choose the level, 3, 5 or 8 questions, the mix and an optional focus, such as "profitability case openings" or "market sizing." The AI reads each question aloud, you answer out loud, and each answer gets a score out of 10 with what worked, what to fix and a model answer, then a report card.
- Strengths: daily spoken practice on the free plan; fit questions drawn from your own résumé; quick reps on structuring a case opening and sizing a market; 50+ languages if you interview outside English.
- Limits: it scores each answer on its own, so it is not a full 30-minute case with exhibits; there is no case library or drill bank and no human coach; the full app is desktop only, with an Android companion in beta; the free plan is 15 minutes a day.
- Price: Free, then Standard at $14.99/mo (sale; regular $19.99), Pro at $29.99/mo or Pro+ at $49.99/mo. Pro Annual is $199.99 a year. See pricing.
Prefer not to install anything? The browser AI mock interview runs a scored round with nothing to download. CoPilot Interview also has a live Candidate Mode; follow the rules of the employer or platform you're interviewing with — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan. Our consulting interview help page covers case and fit rounds in more detail.
2. MConsultingPrep AI CaseGPT
AI CaseGPT is MConsultingPrep's AI case-training platform. Its FAQ says the simulation adapts from McKinsey-style interviewer-led cases to the more candidate-led approach at BCG and Bain, and it accepts voice or text answers. Its skill drills include mental math, estimation and data interpretation, and a Fit Interview Coach covers behavioral questions and personal stories. After each case you get a percentage diagnostic and scores for structure, math and communication, plus side-by-side comparison with expert model solutions.
- Strengths: the most complete case simulation on this list by stated features: both formats, voice, math drills and fit in one place.
- Limits: no free option is listed on the page, and short passes are expensive per day.
- Price (checked October 2026): $49 for 7 days, $99 for 1 month, $199 for 3 months or $399 for 1 year, per the AI CaseGPT page.
3. MyConsultingCoach
MyConsultingCoach sells an AI case platform alongside one-on-one coaching with former MBB interviewers. The platform runs voice-led AI case interviews, structured drills for structuring, math and communication, and structured feedback after every attempt. Its Case Academy includes a consulting math course and a fit course. The page doesn't say whether AI cases are interviewer-led or candidate-led.
- Strengths: voice-led AI cases at a flat monthly price; a clear path to a human coach when you need one.
- Limits: case format not stated; coaching is a separate cost.
- Price (checked October 2026): $50 a month for the platform, one free case to try, and $200 for a 60-minute coaching session, per its case interview AI page.
4. RocketBlocks
RocketBlocks has a consulting track built on drills for structuring, math, charts and brainstorming. Each drill has an expert answer and community answers to compare against, with AI feedback on yours. It also lists an AI voice interviewer that runs a full case, a library of 85+ practice cases, peer practice and expert coaches over Zoom.
- Strengths: fast, repeatable chart and math drills; a math app for iOS and Android included with every subscription.
- Limits: the free option is a 7-day trial; coaching costs extra, from $110 an hour.
- Price (checked October 2026): $35 a month or $155 for an annual pass, per RocketBlocks' site.
5. PrepLounge
PrepLounge is built around human practice: a meeting board for scheduling mock cases with other candidates, a case library labeled by interviewer-led or candidate-led style, drills and paid coaching. Its pricing page doesn't list an AI case partner, so treat it as the human-practice part of your plan.
- Strengths: realistic pressure from live partners; a free plan with 10 peer meetings.
- Limits: peer quality varies; the pricing page says membership fees aren't refunded if you delete your account.
- Price (checked October 2026): Basic is free; Premium is a one-time $69 for 1 year (shown against $79), with 200 cases, 200 drills and 20 video case solutions; Premium with coaching starts at $229, per PrepLounge's pricing page.
6. McKinsey's free AI practice tool
According to Business Insider's May 24, 2026 report, McKinsey launched an AI practice tool in April 2026 for entry-level applicants, typically business analyst and associate candidates, once they're offered an initial screening interview. It generates a new quantitative case question each time, across 15 industries; you type an answer and then see the correct response and the calculation steps. It is free.
- Strengths: it comes from the firm itself, so the style matches what McKinsey expects; unlimited attempts.
- Limits: only for McKinsey applicants at that stage; quantitative questions only; typed, not spoken.
7. ChatGPT and Claude
A general chatbot can run a surprisingly good case if you give it strict rules: write a hidden fact sheet, release data only when asked, never do the math for you, and score you at the end. Both have voice modes. Our ChatGPT mock interview prompts include a case prompt you can paste into either.
- Strengths: free to start; any industry or case type on demand.
- Limits: numbers can drift from one exhibit to the next and arithmetic can be wrong; feedback is only as good as your rubric.
- Price: free plans with usage limits; paid plans raise them.

Practice it: a three-week case plan
A plan we wrote for candidates with about three weeks before first rounds. Lead with practice, and treat every AI score as a prompt to look closer, not a verdict.
- Week 1: foundations. Read what a case interview is if the format is new. Do 15 minutes of math drills a day. Write 5–6 fit stories and run one 5-question CoPilot Interview mock on them every other day.
- Week 2: full cases. Do one AI-run case a day, alternating interviewer-led and candidate-led. After each, write down the one structural miss and the one math slip.
- Week 3: pressure. Do at least three cases with a human partner or coach. Keep up daily math drills and a short spoken fit round. Finish each session by giving a 60-second recommendation out loud.

What is the best AI tool for case interview practice?
Our pick is CoPilot Interview for spoken, scored practice of fit questions, case openings and market sizing, free for 15 minutes a day. For full AI-run cases, MConsultingPrep's AI CaseGPT and MyConsultingCoach state voice-based case simulations. We make CoPilot Interview, so weigh our view accordingly.
Can AI really run a consulting case interview?
Yes, for most of it. Dedicated tools and well-prompted chatbots can give a prompt, release data when asked, check your math and score your recommendation. AI is weaker at realistic pressure and can make arithmetic or consistency errors, so add a few live cases with a person.
Is there a free AI case interview tool?
Yes, with limits. As of October 2026, CoPilot Interview is free for 15 minutes a day, MyConsultingCoach offers one free case, RocketBlocks has a 7-day free trial, PrepLounge's free Basic plan includes 10 peer meetings, and McKinsey's own practice tool is free for its applicants.
Does McKinsey have its own AI practice tool?
Yes. Business Insider reported in May 2026 that McKinsey launched a free AI tool in April 2026 that gives entry-level applicants unlimited practice on quantitative case questions after they're offered an initial screening interview.
Should I practice fit questions with AI too?
Yes. Fit answers need your real stories, so practice them out loud with a tool that builds questions from your résumé and scores each answer. Keep each story to about two minutes and make sure it ends with a clear result.
Can I use an AI interview assistant during a real case interview?
Consulting firms set their own rules, and many don't allow outside help, so ask your recruiter if you're unsure. Follow the rules of the employer or platform you're interviewing with — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan.
