An AI-led HR round asks the same questions a human HR interviewer would, introduction, reasons for leaving, strengths and weaknesses, salary, notice period, relocation, conflict and teamwork, but delivers them through an automated interface with a timer per answer, scores the transcript against the employer's criteria, and compares what you say with what you said in earlier rounds and on your application. The format rewards consistency, directness and complete sentences, and it punishes the vague, meandering answers that a sympathetic human might have rescued with a follow-up. This page lists the questions, explains what the scoring is likely to weigh, shows how to keep your story consistent across rounds, and sets out a practice routine.
The questions, in AI format
| Question | What the scorer is likely to weigh | Answer shape |
|---|---|---|
| Tell me about yourself | Relevance, structure, length | Present role, two relevant achievements, why this role; 60 seconds |
| Why are you leaving / why this company? | Positivity, specificity | One forward-looking reason, two specifics about them |
| Strengths and weaknesses | Evidence, self-awareness | One strength with proof; one real weakness with a fix in progress |
| Salary expectations | A number or range, consistency with the application | State the range you decided; see salary expectations in an AI interview |
| Notice period, relocation, shifts | Direct answers | One sentence each |
| Conflict or teamwork example | Specific situation, your action, outcome | 90 seconds, one story |

How the format changes the answers
- No rescue follow-ups. A human asks "can you give an example?"; the bot moves on. Put the example in the first answer.
- Complete sentences survive transcription. Fragments and trailing clauses get scored as incomplete.
- Timers reward the first 60 seconds. Lead with the answer, then support it.
- Logistics are scored too. Hesitation on salary or notice period reads as uncertainty.

Consistency between rounds
Automated HR rounds often sit after a technical round and before a human HR conversation, and the employer may compare the transcripts. Keep one version of your story: the same reason for leaving, the same salary range, the same notice period, the same two achievements. Write them down before the first round and reread them before each one. If something has genuinely changed, say so plainly rather than hoping nobody notices.
If you would rather talk to a person
You can ask. In some places you are entitled to an alternative, and many employers will arrange a human call if asked politely and early. What to say and what to expect are covered in can you ask for a human instead of an AI interview.
Practice routine
- Write one-sentence answers to every logistics question and say them aloud until they are automatic.
- Run an AI mock interview that reads HR questions aloud and scores your spoken answers; aim for every answer under 90 seconds.
- Rewrite the two lowest-scored answers with a concrete example and a number.
- Repeat two days later in the room and setup you will use for the real round.
