A free AI interview helper should give you practice with scoring and some live minutes every day, not a trial that expires after one use. CoPilot Interview's free plan does that: $0 forever, no credit card, AI mock interviews that score each spoken answer out of 10, and 15 minutes of live captions and answers a day in sessions of up to 15 minutes.
Here is what that includes, what other tools' free tiers included when we checked them in October 2026, and the point at which paying starts to make sense.
What a free AI interview helper should include
Three tests separate a free plan from a trial: practice with feedback, meaning a mock interview that scores your answers rather than a list of questions; live minutes that come back, as a daily or monthly allowance rather than a fixed pool; and no card and no expiry, so you are not quietly converted to a paid plan. A free tier that fails any of these is a demo, which is fine, but call it that.
The product page for the helper itself is at /ai-interview-helper; this page is about the free part specifically.
CoPilot Interview's free plan
- Price: $0 forever, no credit card. No account is needed either.
- Practice: AI mock interviews. Paste the job description and your resume, choose the level and the mix of behavioral, technical, system design and coding questions; an AI interviewer reads questions aloud and scores each spoken answer out of 10 with what worked, what to improve and a model answer.
- Live help: 15 minutes every day in sessions of up to 15 minutes, with live captions and a structured answer in about 2 seconds, plus shorter, longer and redo controls.
- Models: free AI models, with Mercury 2.5 by Inception as the default.
- No install at all: the in-browser demo at /try runs practice questions with no signup.

When paying starts to make sense
Three triggers, in order of how often we see them: the interview is longer than 15 minutes and live help is allowed; you have several interviews a week and the daily allowance is not enough; or you want the premium models, especially GPT-6 Luna reading screenshots in coding screens.

| Free | $0 forever | Up to 15 minutes | 15 minutes | Mercury 2.5; mock interviews included |

Free vs paid AI interview assistant weighs the jump in more detail.
Free does not change the rules
Practice is always fine. Live help in a real interview is fine only where the employer allows it, and some ask for disclosure; follow your employer's rules, and ask the recruiter when nothing is written down. Many people get what they need from the mock interviews alone and never use the live minutes in an interview, which is a perfectly good outcome.
Where CoPilot Interview fits
CoPilot Interview is a desktop AI interview assistant for Windows 10 and 11 and macOS 12 and later, with an in-browser demo for practice. The free plan is the full product with a daily cap on live help and the free models, and it stays free. Paid plans add session length, daily minutes and premium models.
Disclosure: CoPilot Interview is our product, so weigh what we say about it accordingly.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a genuinely free AI interview helper?
Yes. CoPilot Interview's free plan is $0 forever with no credit card: AI mock interviews that score each spoken answer out of 10, and 15 minutes of live captions and answers every day in sessions of up to 15 minutes, using free AI models with Mercury 2.5 as the default.
Do I need to sign up to try it?
No. The in-browser demo at /try runs practice questions with no signup. The desktop app's free plan needs no account either; an account is required only for paid plans so your plan follows you across devices.
What do competitors give away for free?
As of October 25, 2026, mostly one-off pools: MeetAssist 20 minutes, Acedly AI 15 minutes, OphyAI one 15-minute session, LastRound AI 15 credits a month. Final Round AI's free tier covered prep materials only. Medhly offered 5 free sessions a month.
When should I pay for an AI interview helper?
When an interview that allows live help runs longer than 15 minutes, when you have several interviews a week, or when you want premium models. A $9.99 hour pack never expires; Standard is $24.99 a month and Pro $39.99.
Is there a refund if a paid plan does not suit me?
The first payment of a new subscription has a 14-day money-back guarantee as long as under 30 minutes of live session time has been used. Renewals are not covered.
