In Sweden an AI interview assistant is used mostly in English, because the technology, gaming, fintech and engineering employers in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö that hire internationally interview in English as a matter of course, and many Swedish companies will switch to English the moment a non-Swedish speaker joins the call. Swedish itself is not one of the app's ten languages. The setup matches the Netherlands and Germany; the flat, consensus-driven interview style and the norms below are what differ. This page covers where the interviews are and what format they take, the language question, local interview norms worth knowing, the setup that works on local connections, and the rules to follow before using any assistance live.

Language and format

English is the working language of much of Swedish tech and of international employers, and Swedes generally speak it well, so an English interview in Sweden is a normal interview rather than a test of your English. Public-sector and healthcare roles, and many traditional companies, interview in Swedish and often require it. The app transcribes English among its ten languages and does not transcribe Swedish, so it helps with the English rounds and the practice tools, and not with Swedish-language rounds. If English is your weaker side, interview tips for non-native English speakers covers the habits that matter most, and AI interview assistants in other languages explains what the app can and cannot do in each language.

Interview norms in Sweden

Setup on local connections

  1. Connections are excellent; a wired connection is still the safest choice for a panel or a coding round.
  2. Install the desktop app on Windows or macOS and run the free mock interview in English, reading the transcript for misheard words.
  3. Set the app to English for the rounds that are in English, and close it for Swedish rounds, where it cannot help live.
  4. Use headphones and test audio in the platform the employer uses; Teams and Google Meet are both common.
  5. Prepare collaborative examples: how you brought a team to a decision, not only what you decided.
  6. Keep answers to about ninety seconds and leave room for the conversational back-and-forth Swedish interviewers expect.

Rules first

Three rules apply everywhere, including Sweden. Proctored and AI-led rounds forbid outside help, and the invitation says so; practice for them instead. In a live conversation with a human, the employer's policy decides, and when nothing has been said it is your judgment and your risk. Rules on AI in hiring are being phased in across the EU and apply mainly to employers, not to candidates; the employer's own policy and the invitation are what govern you. Whatever you decide, follow your employer's rules and the instructions in the invitation.

CoPilot Interview is an AI interview assistant for Windows 10 and 11 and macOS 12 or later, with an iPhone practice app via TestFlight and an Android APK beta; it runs as a separate window, listens to the call and your microphone, and shows captions and a structured answer in about two seconds. The free plan gives 15 minutes a day of live help in sessions of up to 15 minutes, with AI mock interviews included, and the browser demo at /try needs no signup. Pricing is in US dollars. Most Swedish users start with the free mock interview, which rehearses the exact questions above out loud.

Frequently asked questions

Does the app work in Swedish?

No. Swedish is not one of the ten languages it transcribes and answers in. It works for the English rounds that tech and international employers run, and the practice tools work in English.

Can I use an AI interview assistant in a Swedish job interview?

For practice, always. Live, proctored and AI-led rounds forbid it; in a human conversation the employer's policy decides, and when nothing has been said it is your judgment and your risk.

Is pricing in kronor?

Pricing is in US dollars. The free plan and the browser demo cost nothing, and most Swedish users start there.

What is different about Swedish interviews?

Informal and flat, consensus and modesty valued, personality and logic tests, monthly salary in kronor under collective agreements, and a July shutdown.
