CoPilot Interview is an AI interview app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+, with an Android phone companion in beta and an iPhone version coming soon. It does two jobs: AI mock interviews that score each spoken answer out of 10, and live captions of the interviewer's question with a structured answer in about 2 seconds. You download it, unzip it and run it, with no signup needed to start, and the free plan gives you 15 minutes every day.
This page covers the practical side: which devices it runs on, how to install it, what your computer needs, which features run where, and what happens to your data. CoPilot Interview is made by NeuraSense AI LLC and is not affiliated with Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.
Which platforms the AI interview app runs on
The full app is a desktop program. It runs as its own window, not as a browser extension, and it works beside Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet because it listens to your computer's audio. The phone companion and the browser practice page cover smaller parts of the job.
| Platform | Requirement | How you get it | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10 or later | CoPilot_Interview_Setup.zip from copilotinterview.com | Full app, all four modes |
| macOS | macOS 12 or later | CoPilot Interview.zip from copilotinterview.com | Full app, all four modes |
| Android | Android 10 or later | APK of about 8 MB from our site (not on Google Play yet) | Beta phone companion |
| iPhone | — | — | Coming soon |
| Any browser | None; nothing to install | AI mock interview in your browser | Practice only: 113 questions in 9 tracks |
If you're weighing a desktop app against a browser extension in general, our AI desktop app for interviews page and the Chrome extension vs desktop assistant guide cover that choice.
How to install the AI interview app
On Windows or macOS
- Download the file for your system from the download section of the homepage: CoPilot_Interview_Setup.zip for Windows, or CoPilot Interview.zip for macOS.
- Unzip the file and run the app inside it.
- If your computer asks whether the app may use the microphone or record audio, allow it. The app needs to hear the call for captions and your voice for Mock Interview.
- Start on the free plan. No signup is needed, and there's no credit card step.
- Pick a mode: Mock Interview to practice, Candidate Mode for live help, Interviewer Mode if you hire, or Resume Builder.
On Android (beta)
- On an Android 10+ phone, download the APK (about 8 MB) from copilotinterview.com.
- Your phone asks once whether to allow installs from your browser. Allow it to install the app.
- Open the app and keep the phone near the sound you want it to hear, such as a call on speaker.
Phones can't capture system audio or screens, so the companion listens through its own microphone and the screenshot tools stay on the desktop. Our Android companion guide walks through the APK install in detail.
What your computer needs
- A supported system: Windows 10 or later, or macOS 12 or later.
- An internet connection: audio is turned into text by a speech-to-text model and your question goes to the AI model you chose, so the app needs to be online during a session.
- A microphone: Mock Interview reads each question aloud and listens to your spoken answer.
- A call app that plays sound through your computer: Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet all work. Webex works too, because the app uses your computer's audio rather than any official integration, but run a 2-minute test call first.
- A few minutes for a test: before a real interview, run a short test call with a friend to check that captions pick up the other person.
What runs where: desktop, phone and browser
Not every feature is on every platform. This is what each one does today.
| Feature | Desktop app (Windows, macOS) | Android companion (beta) | Browser practice page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mock Interview from your résumé and job description, scored out of 10 | Yes | Use the desktop app | Graded practice on 113 set questions |
| Live captions and a structured answer in about 2 seconds | Yes, from your computer's audio | Yes, through the phone's microphone | No |
| Coding mode: complete code, complexity, an example run | Yes | No | Coding practice questions |
| Screenshot tools | Yes | No (phones can't capture screens) | No |
| Dual AI Mode (two models side by side) | Yes | No | No |
| Interviewer Mode and Resume Builder | Yes | No | No |
| Install needed | Yes (download, unzip, run) | Yes (APK) | No |
The four desktop modes in one line each
- Mock Interview: you choose the level, 3, 5 or 8 questions, the mix (behavioral, technical, system design, coding), your coding language and an optional focus. Each spoken answer gets a score out of 10, what to fix and a model answer, then a report card. Coding questions never auto-submit, so you can think in silence.
- Candidate Mode: live captions of the interviewer's question, then a structured answer in about 2 seconds.
- Interviewer Mode: for hiring managers running interviews.
- Resume Builder: a tailored résumé from a job URL and your résumé, plus a referral-message generator.
The app offers 9 AI models in total and supports 50+ languages. On the free and Standard plans you use fast free models; Pro adds ChatGPT and Gemini models, and Pro+ adds Claude.
Where your data goes
An AI interview app hears sensitive conversations, so it's worth knowing the path your data takes. Per our site FAQ and privacy policy:
- Session files stay on your computer, in your own Documents folder.
- Audio is streamed in short encrypted segments through our proxy to a speech-to-text model.
- The question text goes to the AI model you chose to produce the answer.
- Nothing is kept on our servers beyond the request.
If you share a computer, remember that the Documents folder is part of your user account, so anyone who can sign in as you can open those files.
Free and paid plans in the AI interview app
The free plan is real practice time, not a trial: 15 minutes every day, sessions up to 15 minutes, all four modes including Mock Interview, and the Resume Builder, with no card and no signup.
- Standard: $14.99/mo (sale; regular $19.99), 60-minute sessions, up to 100 minutes a day, no gap between sessions.
- Pro: $29.99/mo, 70 minutes per session, unlimited sessions, ChatGPT and Gemini models.
- Pro+: $49.99/mo, adds Claude.
- Hour packs: 1 hour $5.99, 5 hours $19.99, 15 hours $34.99, one-time and never expire.
Annual plans save up to 58%, and the first payment of a new subscription has a 14-day money-back guarantee if under 30 minutes of live session time was used. Full details are on the pricing page. To see how other apps compare, read our comparison of AI interview assistants.
Using an AI interview app within the rules
Most of the value is in practice: a few scored mock rounds before the real interview, tightening each answer with the model answer and the follow-up to expect. The STAR story builder and the interview readiness quiz are free on the site if you want to prepare without opening the app.
If you use live help, follow the rules of the employer or assessment you're in — many people use it only to practice, which works on the free plan. For recorded video screens and online assessments, take the assessment yourself and follow the employer's rules — use CoPilot Interview to practice beforehand.
